Winsome Wednesday - Patience!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I am struggling with patience.  And its really just dawning on me that a lot of what I am currently going through, is patience related.

Yes, I realized it in this situation.  Yes, I realized it in that situation.  I even felt it in another situation.  And yes, patience was something I figured out for a completely different situation.

AND then it hit me!

Can I just say...... URGHHHHHHH!

Patience is not my favourite personal trait.  Nope, I get good at it in one small area and it completely flounders in another.  I think I will request of the Lord to rather give me an abundance of patience as apposed to giving me situations in which patience is required!  Long sighhhhh!

Having said all that, I realize that my life is about patience right now and obviously the Lord wishes to deal with this "not so good" trait of mine, NOW!

We are the microwave society aren't we.  We want results NOW.  We want answers NOW.  We want solutions NOW.  We want healing NOW.  We want peace NOW!  We basically want it NOW.

It is obvious to me at the moment though, that God wants me to be patient.  He wants me to have a better attitude in the waiting.  He wants me to inhale, exhale, and praise Him and show faith by waiting with a heart that KNOWS the Lord will not let me down.  He wants me to exude patience!  He wants me to "talk" and "walk" faith in the waiting.  He wants me to smile and wave, if that's all I can do.  :)

I read a tweet recently that kind of hit my attitude in the face:

"Does YOUR life reflect what YOU claim to believe? Is God really YOUR peace, strength, security, and HOPE? Then LIVE like you BELIEVE it!"

Ummmm,  no, this has not been my attitude or demeanour AT ALL!

If you are going through something similar, I encourage you today to join me as I seek out scripture about patience and waiting and being content in the waiting.  That's a biggie too.  God's word always changes my heart!  Lets do this!  Let us be the ones who by our lives encourage others to hang in there with a smile on their faces, because of the Lord.

Romans 12 v 12:  Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.

Galatians 6 v 9:  And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

Romans 5 v 3-4:  Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in out sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.  (4) And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity).  And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.

God bless

Feel free to link up below:

  1. patience, patience... I just did a blog on it last week... Patience as fruit of Gods character growing in you!

  2. Hi Tracy! I think my patience is tested every day-ha! But I know that I can handle whatever this day may bring by responding with patience and complete trust in God’s power and purpose. The troubles and disappointments that test my patience will soon seem trivial and insignificant if I just move on past them, step forward, and lift my eyes up. :)

    Blessings sweet friend!!!

  3. I think patience is a lesson I will always be learning! Thanks for hosting. Have a great week!

  4. Thank you very much for this blog. So glad with it.

  5. I think you're wise to realize we can be patient in some areas, not in others. It's not a universal trait that we apply balanced over everything. I'm still learning patience too (and not liking the lessons either!). Praying for you, me, and all the rest who want to grow in patience.

  6. I'm with you! Patience is not a strength of mine, and God is constantly testing me in this area. Grrrr! Praying you will have peace and contentment during this time!

  7. Patience...this has certainly been a year of testing for me!

  8. Patience. Hmmm. That's a hard one. For me, learning to have patience has surrounded trusting God. This past year I have had to trust Him for His timing and that was not easy. However, with practice (!!!), I am learning. Blessings to you, Tracy! May God show you His plan SOON! :-)

  9. I can so relate to this, patience is something I'm sure the Lord will have to continue to grow in me until I go home to glory. I don't like to wait, I want it now, but I have found that through the waiting the Lord is able to refine me in so many other areas.

  10. I love this, " He wants me to inhale, exhale, and praise Him and show faith by waiting with a heart that KNOWS the Lord will not let me down. He wants me to exude patience!
Patience is not one of my better qualities, either. Yet, the more I walk with Him the more i find that patience isn't about me, it is about waiting on HIM and when I really see that, then it finally becomes less difficult. I am so thankful that He is patient with me and merciful.
Great scriptures, Romans 5:3-4 is one I will take with me today.
