Dreams Do Come True....

Yes, they do!  But sometimes not always the way we expect them to.  Firstly, I think God changes our dreams as we strive to know Him better and spend time with Him!  They change, they become something we maybe don't want anymore, or.... we become more passionate about a certain dream.

My husband once wrote out a list of his heart's desires and many years later came back to that list.  He noted that some dreams had been met, some had changed, some he had no desire for anymore and some he felt even more strongly about than before.

Ps 147 v 11:  But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love.

I believe this is because as one walks closer to the Lord, there are things in us that grow, change, mature!  Things that God wants us to deal with.  Things He wants us to overcome.  God is the ultimate parent!  He knows, to give us what we want, when we want it, is not always a good thing.  It could destroy us, set us back, or change our attitudes negatively.

One of my dreams has just come true!  Something I really desired but never truly believed I would achieve.  But,  the Lord wants to bless us!  The word says He looks for opportunities to bless us!  Sometimes we are blind to these opportunities, and sometimes we can't accept the blessing because we do not think we are worthy.  And sometimes we are just not READY for His blessing.

Ecc 2 v 26:  For to the one who pleases Him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner He has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God.  This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

Its about learning to trust God knows what is best for us.  Its about learning to trust His timing in when and how He blesses us.  He, ultimately, knows us best and knows what is best for us.

My encouragement to you is to seek God always, study His word, trust in His word, because He will guide you and lead you and in that will be much blessing.  Your joy WILL be full.  And, those dreams, trust Him to fulfil them, remove them if they are not for your good, or change them into huge blessing.  He loves you more than you can ever fathom.

God bless

Sharing with these lovely ladies this week:

  1. Tracy, I was blessed by this post. I also wrote about dreams today. I love when God works in this way in my life. So thank you! Visiting from Sharing His Beauty this morning :)

  2. What a wonderfully encouraging post! Of course, I am dying to know what dream came true for you! But, it does my heart good to know that sometimes really good things still happen in life.

  3. Awesome word my friend and very timely!!!!!

  4. I appreciate how you recognize God's blessings in your life and how he is the Dream Giver and Dream Adjuster and Dream Maker...He makes all things new! I am excited to hear what dream He is bringing to life in you...

  6. You kbow He works in mysterious ways. Last year I had a job I truly did not like and after commuting, childcare, etc it seemed even economically undesirable. I kept wondering why I had the job. A few months after the contract ended, my husband realized it forme. On bad weather days he would take me to work and drop our son at preschool afterwards. If time allowed, they would get breakfast after dropping me off. My son is a total mama's boy but he developed aspecial bond with daddy over breakfast. The Lord made sure the boys in my life could develop a bond that would not have happened another way. It was worth it!

  7. "Its about learning to trust His timing in when and how He blesses us." Such truth and wisdom in this post. Thank you for linking up for Three Word Wednesday.

  8. I came after you at "True Stories" Blog hop! This is so true! God wants the very best for us....we just need to trust His ways and timing. Blessings to you!

  9. Thanks so much for sharing this! It was just the encouragement I needed today. :)

  10. I look at young people today and their dreams (and desires) are so self centered, that it makes me wonder if they will mature and grow up in God. When a dream is God given, he will bring it to pass in His time. Naturally as women, we don't enjoy the wait. Thank you for sharing with us here at "Tell Me a Story."

  11. I have to be careful because a dream I have (like you said) may not even be God's will for my life. Thanks for sharing, Tracy.

  12. He is good, but yes, "His timing". Something I have learned, but have a feeling I will always be learning until the day I die! Lol. Thanks for your sweet post, friend! UNITED in Him, Jen
