Winsome Wednesday - Wise Woman?

I've been married nearly 25 years this year and one thing I have realized is how I, as the woman of the home, can affect the temperature of the home. In a way it kind of annoys me because it make me feel responsible for how things are at my home and truth be told, to a degree I am responsible. I have read this scripture many times in the past and sometimes then, and currently now, I am spending some time reflecting on how I, as the woman in my home, can make the temperature more pleasant, more inviting and more acceptable not only to and for my family, but more importantly, for my God.

Am I doing all I can to "build" my home?

Prov 14 v 1:  EVERY wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

Just a little something for us ladies to think about today as we go about our homes.    :)

God bless

  1. Thanks Tracy for hosting, and you are right about a woman either lifting up her house or pulling it down. We do that with our words and our actions. Very nice post!

  2. Thank you so much for the hosting the linkup today for Winsome Wednesday. Have a wonderfully blessed day!!

  3. It is a little scary when we realize how much influence we do have, for better or for worse. Thanks for the reminder to use it for the better! May God be glorified through the atmosphere we create in our homes.

  4. Perfect reminder for this morning! I agree in prayer with Lisa's prayer and appreciate the reminder this day!

  5. Thanks for the encouraging reminder, Tracy! Thanks for the party. Hope you're having a nice week. I've posted the new Homemaking Party for the week and would love to have you link up, if you'd like!

  7. Yep I am that fool sometimes....the one pulling it down with her hands! I guess its imperfect day Ill get there:))

  8. Good words - great truth.

Yes, even though it's just myself and my husband now, I still see how I affect the *temperature* of my home. And you're right, it's a burden sometimes. Sometimes I just want to *have* my own moods!

But, God has given we women responsibilities. And certainly one of them is to have a godly heart in our households.

  9. These are very wise words. We do have the ability, with God's awesome help, to choose a right attitude and life-giving words. I'm with Sharon; sometimes I just want to have my own mood! I'm so thankful that God's patient!
    Blessing to you ~ Mary

    Thanks for hosting!
