You are Beautiful!

One thing I am learning is that I need to read the word to see and remember how God sees me.  I need to focus on that and not on how my feelings on the day make me feel, or what others say of me.  What matters is what God says of me, how He sees me.  When that starts to infiltrate my soul, I will start to live more as God would have me live.

The thing is, God sees us as ALL we could be IN HIM!  Not where we are now, but all we are capable of, in Him.  We need to start seeing ourselves as He does too because it will change us, our walk and the impact we have in our world, for Him and because of Him.

Ps 139 v 14:  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  Marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

I encourage you to see yourself as God sees you.  It'll change your walk forever.

God bless

Don't give up!

Getting ready the other morning, Christian TV on in the background, I heard the pastor of the moment speak about 'not giving up'.  My ears perked up and tuned in...

I SO want to give up.  I am tired!  I am drained!  I am at the end of myself! (in my humble opinion).  Obviously God thinks (knows) I can cope with this and more!  Well, truly, with HIM, I can!  My feelings are just kicking and screaming and objecting to the situations I find myself in!

Having said all that, I believe God caused me to hear this to encourage me.  "Tracy, don't give up!  I am with you.  I am your strength, lean on Me, let Me fight for you, you are Mine."

Isn't it amazing when you have a "moment" between drying your hair and brushing your teeth where God drops something into your spirit that uplifts, encourages, strengthens you.... so you can take the next step, turn the next corner, inhale the next breath?!  God's love is amazing....

My encouragement to you is "Don't give up".  All is not as it seems.  Your growth comes from pushing through!  When you give up you can regress in your walk!  Focus on God's truth.

Rom 5 v 3-4:  ...we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; (4) and perseverance, character;  and character, hope.

In Tim 3 v 10+11 Paul lists all he has been through and ends with..."and out of them all the Lord delivered me."

Yes, the Lord will deliver us out of all out circumstances.  So long as we don't give up!

God bless friends

A Mom's faithfulness - Guest posting over at Leaving a Legacy

Shari from Leaving a Legacy has given me this lovely opportunity to guest post for her.  I am thrilled (insert smiling woman here).  Shari asked what legacy do I feel has been left to me.....

I never really thought about it before but this is the first thing that came to mind:
  • My Mom had me "Christened" as was the done thing to do in her day, and
  • She dropped me off at Sunday school from the time I was 7 or 8 years old.
She wasn't even (and still isn't) a Christian!

Please leave a comment there or here.  I love hearing from you

What's your favourite verse?

Many years ago when we had cell-group at our home, the cell group leader asked us to come back the following week with our favourite verse and why it was our favourite verse.

The following week we dutifully returned with our favourite verse and after opening in prayer, chatting a bit, we got down to it and started sharing.  All I remember is the cell leader saying is "No, no, that verse is important for this or that reason" and him proceeding to tell us why our chosen verse had meaning.  Kind of.... awkward! :)

Now all these years later, I have lots of favourite verses and they tend to change depending on circumstances and where I am in my walk!   Currently it is:  John 3 v 30:  More of Him, less of me.  Its my favourite right now because I know that a solution to any problem I have, anything I need to overcome, is more of Him and less of me.  I need more of His word, I need to focus on Him more, I need to worship Him more, I need to thank and praise Him more.  I need more of Him, full-stop!

What is yours?  I'd love for you to leave a comment with your current favourite verse(s)!  I think its a great way to share scripture together.

God bless friends

Giving in Friendship!

I have had friends old and new, some family too, over the last few weeks, helping me to remain focused on Christ.  Reminding me to keep my eyes on my Heavenly Father!  Reminding me that beyond the clouds and the rain, shines the sun!

These precious friends have:
  • tickled my funny bone, until I laughed
  • NOT LEFT ME ALONE in my pity party place
  • prayed for me and sent me messages
  • sent me scriptures to hold on to
  • one precious friend even sent me a beautiful gift
All I can say is THANK YOU, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Many of you have encouraged me when you yourselves have been in need of encouragement.  How awesome and such a great lesson for me.   I hope I am able to encourage you as you have encouraged me.  I pray the Lord's abundant blessings on you all.  Your friendship is a great reminder to me of how great is God's love for me that He has placed you in my life.  And a reminder I hope for you, how precious you are to Him when you reflect on your friends, old, new, near far, seen and unseen!

Your friendship is a gift to me

You are awesome examples of giving, giving of yourselves generously.

2 Corin 9 v 6:  But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Ladies, you will reap bountifully

God bless

The Word gives Comfort!

I can't explain it.... but it just does!  When you go to the Word for answers, for guidance, out of need.... you come away comforted, renewed, calmed!

It like, God Himself has just spoken into your heart.  Oh wait!  He has!  His Word, His truth!  It changes you without even trying.

I know I have often gone to the Word seeking answers and ... sometimes not getting them, but I come away being able to exhale, being able to see clearer, being able to cope better.

Yes, God's Word comforts and uplifts.  Praise God!  Praise God!

Ps 119 v 50:  This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has given me life.

Isaiah 40 v 8:  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.

Trusting His Word does the same for you as you seek it out!

God bless

So, my encouragement to you today is no matter how you feel, no matter your circumstance, thankfulness is worship and God loves our worship.  I pray for you today, great blessings and great joy!

Ps 100 v 4:  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.

What do you do about that thorn in your flesh?

I think God allows a "thorn in our flesh" to make sure we always lean on Him.  It prevents us from becoming prideful about our own abilities or deeds or circumstances.  And... God uses it to teach us to be content in all things.

Paul had a thorn in his flesh.  I don't know what it was but he says in 2 Corinth 12 v 7 that it kept him from thinking too highly of himself.  He prayed for God to remove it from him and God's response ...
2 Corinth 12 v 9:  And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is make perfect in weakness."
I have a "thorn in my flesh" but until God chooses to remove it I need to be content and KNOW that His grace is sufficient for me.

And I believe He will remove it.  I believe God is biding His time, working things together for the good of those who love Him and I need to find that place of contentment until then.  Whether its there or not His grace is sufficient for us and His strength shines through our weakness in coping with the hard stuff!

I choose to believe the WHOLE of God's word and God's word says:
  • He will give us vindication (Job 13v18)
  • He says that which someone means for our harm He will use for our good (Gen 50v20)
  • Joseph, Daniel, Jacob, Shadrac, Meeshac and Abednego, Mordechai, Noah, Jacob, Abraham - none of their faith was in vain even though for some moments there, it looked bad!  God came through for them all!  They got the victory and God got the glory!

My encouragement to you is have faith the "thorn in the flesh" serves a Godly purpose.  Trust God with the bigger picture and trust Him for the outcome!  His plans and purposes for you are for good (Jer 29v11)

God bless

I am overwhelmed!

Here I sit consumed with fear, consumed with the hurt of being wrongfully accused, consumed with angst for how things are going to turn out.

AND then... I randomly opened my bible with the desire to calm my turmoiled heart and this is what was highlighted on the page I opened to....

Ps 138 v 7-8:  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;  You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.  (8)  The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever, do not forsake the works of Your hands.

O my God, how awesome is your faithfulness to me.  How gracious and merciful You are.  That You would uplift, heal and calm my beating heart by opening Your word to just where I need to read.
Thank You

I pray this comforts you as it has me.
God bless
