Waiting on the Lord - The right Choice

We are going through a time of 'waiting' at the moment.  Waiting on God to make a way.  Waiting on God to restore family.  Waiting on God for vindication.  We have received many words of scripture and encouragement telling us that:

  • God is in control
  • God sees and does not ignore injustices
  • God will restore and vindicate His own.
However, we get impatient and disheartened.  I know I go through stages where I feel that God is going to let things stay as they are.  And you know, if that is the case then like Job I would like to be able to say:
Job 13v15:  Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him (NKJ)

Its times like these when we feel God isn't doing anything we need to remind ourselves of His word.  Its in times of waiting we have to hold ourselves back from trying to make a plan.  I'm constantly thinking "If I do this" or "if I say that" I can achieve what God promised.  But God has said to wait for His timing, His solutions!  His ways are not our ways - we will never be able to come up with a better way than His.

In the time of waiting, remember that the Lord's mercies are new every day (Lam 3v23) and He is good to those who WAIT for Him and SEEK Him (Lam 3v25).

So, choose to wait on the Lord and use the waiting time to grow in the Lord, read His word, praise Him and worship Him and claim His word in your circumstance - in faith - knowing His word is true.
Wait patiently on the Lord

Ps 27 v 14:  Wait patiently for the Lord.  Be brave and courageous.  Yes, wait patiently for the Lord (NLT)

God bless

Today I am linking with Joan at Reflections of His Grace for:

  1. Great, I like to read this in the early morning. (7:01)

  2. I'm not a very patient person, so I really needed to be reminded of this lesson.

  3. Waiting and not "helping" may be the hardest thing of all.

  4. Tracy:

Waiting is not easy, especially for someone like me who is impatient, but in the end it is worth it.

The times when I try to take matters into my own hands, I mess up. Other times, when I wait for Him, the answers are far better and greater than I could have ever imagined.

  5. Tracy,

This is timely to me today, too. As I wrote my post about flesh and Spirit, the heart of the situation is waiting on the Lord to move, when I want to take things in my own hands. Waiting, putting off our flesh, taking on Him promises is hard to do. Thank you for sharing where you are. I pray the Lord moves His hand for you, quickly!

  6. I hate to wait, hate it. But the things He can teach us in the waiting are worth it all!

  7. Waiting is so hard. I hate it. But through that period of waiting, God teaches us beautiful lessons. I am willing to wait.

  8. Waiting is never easy but thank you for today's post...because right now I am waiting on the Lord myself and in my waiting I tend to be nervous and so today's verse for me is Psalms 91:1-3 Psalm 91:1-3 which says' Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

    Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.

i am standing on this verse today..praise GOD

  9. Waiting is hard; waiting patiently is even harder. But I have to trust that God is in control and His ways are best. Many blessings, Tracy!

  10. Waiting is so difficult! But, our patience will bring blessings from the Lord. Trust in Him!

  11. Tracy,

I am a terrible waiter and I like to remind God of things, all.the.time. So I don't know why I am always surprised when He make me wait and tests my patience.

Awesome words Tracy, blessings to you.

  12. What a great post! Yes, waiting is hard, but I've learned many times that waiting for HIS timing is the best way of all, and so now it's not so hard because I want HIS best!
What helps me the most in the waiting is to be out serving. . .makes the time go by faster and so many blessings in that while waiting! :)

  13. Hi Amber - thank you, I appreciate that

Hi Mrs Wild-flower - you and me both. Patience is not my best characteristic

Hi Stefanie - I'm with you on that!

Hi Joan - I am glad to hear I am not the only one :)

Hi Brenda - thank you, I appreciate the prayers. I pray the same for you.

Hi Allison - excellent point. Its in the waiting that God teaches us so much, if we are willing to learn, that is :)

Hi Jenifer - I think thats it at the end of the day, the willingness to wait.

Hi Desiray - I am standing with you on the verse

Hi Lisa - amen, God is in control and waiting is the faith to recognise that. Great point

Hi Joan - amen, so true. Doing things His way always brings blessing

Hi Kandi - reading your comment made me smile, sounds so much like me, reminding God - like He has forgotten :)

Hi Kristin - so true and thank you for sharing what you do in the waiting. To serve in the waiting is an act of faith, awesome.

Ladies, you bless me with your comments and I really appreciate everyone of you.
    God bless

  14. When we find ourself in God's waiting room it is often hard to find God. In the silence and stillness we can easily start to wonder if He has forgotten us. But no...I have found that the waiting room is the place where I come to understand and even appreciate my total dependance on God. I know He is the only ONE who can meet my need, satisfy my soul, answer my I wait, not always patiently, but wait none the less. And, PRAISE GOD, HE IS FAITHFUL and always RIGHT ON TIME!

    Great post, Tracy~
Happy Friday to you, my friend.

  15. But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Thanks for this posting. Yesterday this (above)was the bibleverse for my time alone with the Lord. (Micha 7:07)

  16. Hi Stacy - yes, I am also learning that there is much to learn and much growing to be done in the waiting time. You have an awesome friday too

Hi Jedidja - Excellent verse, I'm going to write it down to remember

Thank you ladies - you bless me
    God bless

  17. This is another timely post for me.. I am in a season of waiting (so it seems) learning to be patient. But I am learning to grow in the Lord, diving in His word.. its' help work out the kinks lying within me. Thank you for the reminders, God is in control. Have a blessed weekend.

  18. Hi Misty - God is also busy working all the kinks out of me... in the waiting. God bless, Tracy

  19. It's all a journey to heaven! It's difficult for us to wait but if we see what God is accomplishing in us, imagining our "roots" growing deeper, getting stronger, then it will be exciting to wait. Patsy from

  20. Hi Patsy - great visual and great encouragement.
    God bless
