Proverbs 7

I have decided to do this study through Proverbs differently.  As I go through each chapter, I will blog about what has gripped me instead of basically summerising the whole chapter.  So, here goes...

Prov 7 v 1-4:  Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands.  Obey them and live!  Guard my teaching as your most precious possession.  Tie them on your fingers as a reminder.  Write them deep within your heart.  Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family.

The rest of Prov 7 goes on to describe how a loose woman traps a stupid man devoid of understanding and how it leads to his destruction.

Well then...

If you hold onto wisdom with all your might, wisdom will keep you away from the path of destruction.  What I feel we as women should also take from this is don't ever be mistaken for the other person in this senario.  What are you saying to other men?  How are you saying it?  What are you wearing?  In this day and age we need to make sure nothing can be misconstrued by anyone.  Today, people take 1 + 1 and get 458!

Prov 2 v 11(a) says:  Discretion will preserve you.

Let us not be like birds, flying into a snare little knowing it'll cost him his life (Prov 7v23).

My encouragement to you... seek wisdom!  Its for your own good and God gives it freely to all who ask and mean it.  James 1 v 5-6:  If you need wisdom - if you want to know what God wants you to do - ask Him, and He will gladly tell you.  He will not resent your asking.  But when you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

What do you think?

God bless
