Looking forward, Not behind!

Isaiah 43 v 18-19:  Do not earnestly remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Who does this remind you of?  Lot's wife?  God told them when they left Sodom and Gomorrah (Genensis 19) not to look back.  Lot's wife looked back to what she was familiar/comfortable with and it cost her her life.

What is the point here?
Is there something in your life God has been encouraging you to leave in the past?  A bad experience, some hurtful words, something you did that you are ashamed of?  Maybe its a bad habit.  Maybe God is encouraging you on a new path and you are fearful and keep looking back or sticking to what is comfortable.

Well if you feel God is prompting you, its time to take a step of faith.  Step into what God has for you.  Maybe it seems impossible but reread the scripture above:  '...I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.'  Don't let the old things hold you back.  Don't let the familiar and safe keep you from growing.  If God has opened this door for you He says He will make a way.

Phil 3 v 13(b)-14:  ...But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

I don't know what it is holding you back, but if God is speaking to you and this is confirmation for you, don't let fear hold you back and take that step of faith and when you succeed make sure you give God the Glory.

God bless
