Winsome Wednesday - Trust God anyway...

  • Is your enemy prospering?  Does it look like all is sunshine and roses on their side of the fence?  Trust God anyway.
  • Is your enemy laughing?  Having fun?  Seems to not be affected by all that has gone by?  Praise the Lord anyway.
  • Remember too that although the grass seems to look green and healthy on that side, all is not always as it seems.  However, even if all is all wonderful, balloons, rainbows and harps over on that side, Trust God anyway.

His word says He is your defense! (Psalm 94 v 22)
His word says He sees what your enemy has done! (Romans 12 v 19)
His word says He will vindicate you and protect you! (Psalm 37 v 6)

Focus on God and His word, rather than what is going on over there.

And

Trust God anyway.... He is in control after all!

I hope I have encouraged you to look up and not around at the grass of others.  Remember, all is not always as it seems, and over there, on that side of the fence, they might even desperately need your prayers.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Have you been wronged?

I want to encourage you today to never give up.  For a long time we were wronged and I cried out to the Lord and I tried to open the eyes of those who chose to believe the lies about us, until I finally gave up.  On one hand I gave up, but truly, I finally listened to the Lord when He said, "Leave them to me!"

The Lord has promised vindication in His word, Psalm 17 v 2:  Let my sentence of vindication come from You!  May Your eyes behold the things that are just and upright.

The lesson I have learnt here is that true vindication comes from the Lord, not from me convincing someone of my being in the right.  And God's way leads to healing and restoration.

Be encouraged if you too are waiting for the eyes of those who refuse to see to be opened.  Trust the Lord to do it and He will, in His way and in His time.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Open to the Voice of the Lord!

Well firstly, sorry this post is so late!  I have been running around since early and completely forgot!  But, rather late than never!

Upper most on my heart today is to be open to the voice of the Lord!  Now I am not sure how you all have heard from the Lord.  I know I haven't heard God's audible voice and I probably would jump out of my skin if I did.  But God certainly speaks to us in ways that we can relate to.  His word is a great source of His voice!  Christian music.  My husband is often humming a song not realizing what he is humming until the words of the song make an impression.  He then realizes the song is an answer or encouragement and he believes its a way the Lord speaks to him.

What about church?  Home cells?  A friend's encouragement!  An advert on TV can get you too.  A book, a story line!  So many ways the Lord can get our attention.  What about in an aisle of the shopping centre?  Yup, many a weird and wonderful thing has gotten my attention, or confirmed something, or well, just made sense.

I often try to trust my gut!  You know, I feel uncomfortable about something and then decide that I will see that as the Lord guiding me.  I feel good about something, or have peace, then I walk in that direction.  Yes, God will "talk" to you if you keep yourself open to Him.  I would caution you though to test everything against the word.  Sometimes we can be influenced by wrong sources!

Anyway, my encouragement to you is to firstly know God wants to communicate with you, and secondly, remain open to Him and His word.  He loves you and wants to be in your life every moment.

Psalm 34 v 4:  I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Flowers or Rubble?

We are all on a journey!  We are all trying to get onto the right path.  To freedom, to peace and happiness, to success, to health.....  Yes, we are all searching for that one path that will put us where we want to be.

God says that if we choose His way, although it may be rough, and although it may go through hills and valleys, He will straighten our paths before us.  Prov 3 v 6:  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. We may not see what is on the road ahead and maybe that is a good thing.  We may just turn and run!  But if we choose His way, we know in faith that ultimately, His way leads to where it is we need to and want to be.

So on this journey, on this path we follow, we get to choose our attitudes.  Am I right?  I don't like to point that out to myself because sometimes I want to blame others for how I feel or where I am.  But we can choose JOY in the moments, we can choose to see the flowers along the path, we can choose to stop and smell the roses!  We can see the beautiful rainbows that follow the rain.  We can find the fun in jumping through the mud puddles.......

OR

We can see the dirt, the rocks and obstacles in the road, the damage done to the roads by those before us.  We can choose to be negative, and see only the storm clouds and lightening.

I'm not trying to belittle anyone's circumstances.  Some of what we and others go through is really tough.  But if we choose a better outlook, we choose to see flowers and not rubble, the journey is just that little bit lighter.

My encouragement to you is if you are choosing a good attitude over a negative, and you see someone struggling, help them, offer them a smile, a flower, a glimmer of light.  We all know that the light chases away the dark.  Every spark WILL make a difference to you and anyone else you choose to share it with.

God bless
Tracy
