Winsome Wednesday - Mountains and Majesty

One of the reasons I love to have a view of the mountains around us, and I love to drive around taking photos or just day-tripping through them, is that they give me a feeling of majesty, God's majesty!  They give me a feeling of peace.  Peace because God is the creator of those mountains and if they were easy-peasy for Him, then my problems are small and manageable for Him too!

When I am worried or hassled or something is going on inside or in my circumstances, those mountains help me to focus on how little and insignificant all those worries are.  Seeing those mountains makes me realize that nothing is too difficult for my God, my Saviour, my Friend.  And although my problems are small in comparison to His great majesty and might, He cares about every one of them and He cares for me through every worry or problem.

He cares for what you are going through too!  Its time to focus on His majesty, His might, His greatness!  Not on our worries and circumstances.  For great and mighty is He, ruler and maker of the earth.

Jer 32 v 17:  Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm!  There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You.

Jer 32 v 27:  Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything to hard for Me?

God bless
Tracy

  4. I live in Indiana--not too many mountains! But I do love seeing them. Next time I'm in Pennsylvania I'll be reminded that NOTHING is too hard for God. ~Pamela

  5. I love that God uses the mountains in that way for you. I can understand that. God often uses the big trees I see out my window to remind me of how big he is, big enough to handle anything going on with me!

  6. I feel the same way when I look at the mountains! Looking at the stars also gives me peace. They remind me God is so much bigger, the creator of all. : )

  7. Hi Tracy! How nice to see you today!
What a beautiful vista you have for your drives...just gorgeous. Nature does have a way of calming me down too. No mountains, but plenty of forests and nature paths. Somehow it just shows me how small I am, and how God is in control. How blessed are we to have such a wonderful, accessible place to go and become calm. God is good!

    Have a great weekend :)

  8. Lovely post! I also live surrounded by mountains, and one big granite peak in particular. As I gaze upon their majesty (perfect word for it!), I am reminded that they have been here long before I was here, and will remain long after I am gone. Somehow, in that thought I am comforted. For the Lord who created those mountains, also stands forever.

And holds me in His hand.

    GOD BLESS!

  9. A good reminder of how great and awesome He is that our God just spoke all of creation into existence. Being out in the middle of it all always brings great peace to me as well.
    Blessings my friend!!
