Winsome Wednesday - A Great Idea?

Yesterday I was scrolling through my facebook page as one does and came upon this picture:

From the happy Wives Club

And it occurred to me that I am at a time in my life where my children are growing up, learning how to cope with their own lives, etc and I have a little more (a lot more) time on my hands.  So when I saw this I thought, "yes, time to put more concerted effort into my marriage!"

I love blogging and decided there and then to start a blog, which is private, for my use where I am going to start listing and marking all those "marriage moments" that I can remember and that happen as time goes along.  I thought it would be a great idea for me to document these moments as there have been so many that I have forgotten (and plan to try remember) and this is also a tool I can use to focus on my marriage more positively and look to make new moments.  Afterall, whose marriage does not need all the work and attention it can get?  It is a blessing one has to keep trying to fine tune and appreciate.

Col 3 v 23:  Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.

My encouragement to you today is twofold, firstly, today, look for a marriage moment and remember it and celebrate it, and secondly, if you don't see one, be the cause of one, a good one!  Marriage is a precious and very under-appreciated blessing (I speak loudly to myself here too).

God bless
Tracy

  1. In a difficult time of transition - my father passing, and now taking care of my mother - it's been too easy for me to overlook my steadfast and loving husband. Thanks for the reminder of how grateful I am for my marriage.

    GOD BLESS!

  2. This a great idea, thank you. I'm going to go with this either on a personal blog or on a journal app on my ipad because my husband is now away from home more with his work. Good timing.

  3. The wonderful thing about this mosaic is that we choose the pieces to include in it. I bet your mosaic when completed (figuratively speaking) while be a beautiful delight to your children!

  5. Thanks for hosting Tracy!! I haven't been by in awhile but I am glad that I dropped over. I really loved your post today. I have been working hard on our marriage since a number of years ago when it looked like our nest might be emptying out.

  7. That's a great idea, Tracy! Writing down (or rather typing in!) our positive marriage moments is a great way to increase the bond between you and your husband! It's like counting your blessings but topic specific! So often we either simply overlook or forget the nice things that happen in our marriages. I know God will bless you both as you focus on the positive!!

    Blessings, Joan
