Winsome Wednesday - Grace in Forgiveness!

I've been making my way through Psalms lately and, well, I love Psalms.  David writing his heart and soul out, good or bad, really makes me feel hope for myself and how up and down my emotions can get.  The thing I get from his words apart from the encouragement etc, is that David was genuine in his feelings.  He expressed himself, happy or sad, frustrated or elated, and let it all out!  He was either truly joyful, truly repentant, truly worshipful!  This gives me comfort in knowing I too can truly express myself before my God.

The scripture that stood out for me recently is Psalm 32 v 1:  Blessed is he who has forgiveness of his transgression continually exercised upon him, whose sin is covered!

When I read this I was really cross with myself for yet again repeating something stupid.  And I asked the Lord to forgive me AGAIN, and I read this.  Firstly, I was overwhelmed because of His great mercy and grace for me and secondly, He says I am blessed and I am forgiven.

God is amazing!  And a loving Father of note!  We as His children are immeasurably blessed.  My encouragement to you is to see His grace and mercy in your life.  It changes your heart, toward yourself and others.

God bless
Tracy

  1. Forgiveness is powerful - both when it's given, and when it's received. Nothing better than being washed in God's forgiveness! Even if it's over and over for the same stuff!!

    GOD BLESS!

  3. There's always something new to pick out from Psalms, I suppose because we are always in new situations for it to apply to. Love the universality of it.

  5. I also love the Psalms! The emotions that are expressed in them are so real... They help me to also express myself to God, knowing that He listens and cares about everything I am feeling - the good, the bad and the ugly! I love how we can simply come to Him without any pretension and open our hearts fully!

    Blessings, Joan

  8. The Psalms are some of the first scriptures that were printed in book form and made available to the average person. I used to read through the Psalms on a monthly basis - your post reminded me how much I miss that! I always go to the Psalms first. His word there never ceases to inspire, uplift and comfort me. Have a blessed week, Tracy!

  9. God knows I'm a slow learning - that it takes me time to stop making the same mistakes - just like it takes time to build muscle strength. God's not beating you up - so don't beat yourself up. Just get up, shake yourself off - give God a shaky smile and try again. You'll get better and better each time!

When I pray for the boys or my husband - I always go to Psalms, put their name in and pray:) It's like miracle grow!
