Winsome Wednesday - Powerful prayer for you!

I was sent this prayer through a Daily Devotional I receive.  This is such a powerful prayer that I had to share it with you.  It is a prayer originally written by Derek Prince and is a daily prayer for protection!

READ IT - It is SO POWERFUL!

DAILY PRAYER FOR PROTECTION
By Derek & Ruth Prince

Father God, I come to you in the Name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper and every tongue which rises against us in judgement we do condemn. This is our heritage as servants of the Lord and our righteousness is from You, O Lord of Hosts (Isaiah 54:17). If there are those who have been speaking or praying against us or who have rejected us, even cursed us, we forgive them and, having forgiven them, we bless them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:43, Romans 12:14).

Now we declare, O Lord, that You and You alone are our God, and besides You there is no other God. You are a just God and Saviour: You are Creator, Redeemer, Faithful, Loving God. You are Father, Jesus the Son and Holy Spirit – and we worship You!

Your Word says: “Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” So we submit
ourselves afresh to You in unreserved obedience. Having submitted to You, Lord, we do as Your Word
directs. We resist the devil: all his pressures, his attacks, his deceptions, every instrument or agent he would seek to use against us. We do not submit! We resist him, drive him from us and exclude him from us in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Specifically we reject and repel:
• Every form of witchcraft. Every influence of the occult.
• Every spirit of infirmity: infections, malignancies, viruses, pain, inflammation, and allergies.
• Every spirit of depression and heaviness; confusion and deception.
• Every spirit of accusation and condemnation.

Thank You, Father, that You confuse the plans the enemy has against us.

Finally, Lord, we thank You that through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, we have passed out from under the curse and entered into the blessing of Abraham, whom You blessed in all things (Galatians 3:13-14, Genesis 24:1).

Thank You for Your favour, Your presence, Your provision, Your protection. Thank You for good health, victory, exaltation, reproductiveness, and prosperity.

I pray you were as blessed by this prayer as I have been.  I encourage you to pray it daily, knowing that it is life changing.

God bless
Tracy

Floored! By Favour!

I had to tell someone something.  I had to let them know my plans because my plans would affect them and their plans.  And....I kept putting it off.  I kept saying "tomorrow".  I had no peace about telling them and vaguely I wondered if it is because I would be uncomfortable or if I was stalling?

Then the moment arrived.  They phoned and asked if they could visit for tea.  I said yes,  I put the kettle on, and decided this was the moment, this was the time!  I had to tell them now!

We made tea, said our pleasantries and before I could say anything, they told me of their plans!  Their plans were exactly the plans needed to get me off the hook.  I did not need to tell them anything.  Their actions had prevented me from doing something that I felt uncomfortable about, something I felt was unpleasant.

So, we chatted about what they planned to do and we expressed our joy for them and told them we were happy for them and when they left I did a dance of joy around the house.

How awesome is God that He removed this potentially unpleasant task from us?!  How awesome is He that He made this seem like their idea and not one they could potentially in time try to blame us for?!  I was so GRATEFUL in that moment, so HUMBLED and SO HAPPY!

THE SAME DAY, I tackled my computer knowing that because of it crashing and being repaired and my lack of knowledge in trying to find my lost info (but found by the technician and placed "I don't know where" on my hard drive),  I knew I had to redo 12 months worth of accounting!  I was resigned to it after whining about it all weekend.  So, I started preparing to do the work, and.... wait a minute.... what is that?  I played a little more, I tweaked a little more... and is that really what I am seeing?

YES!!!!!  Its there!  I found it!!!!  I do not have to redo 12 months of slog in a hurry!!!!  I AM SO GRATEFUL I just had to do another dance of joy!

Now anyone who has been reading my blog for any length of time will know that the last 6 years have been agony.  Painful!  Hard years of emotional trauma and devastation in my family.  But that has come to an end and God has given us victory over lies and deceit and now we are in a season of great favour.  What I am trying to say to you is this:  DON'T GIVE UP!  NEVERY GIVE UP!  God is not done!  He is working in your circumstance.  He loves you and He cries with you and He IS CARRYING you.  DON'T GIVE UP!

Psalm 31 v 24:  Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for and hope for and expect the Lord!

God bless

Winsome Wednesday - Reverse Encouragement!

We've all heard the saying "Reverse Psychology" right?  You know, doing something in an adverse sort of way to get the reaction you want?  Like ignoring someone because you want their attention?  Right?

What about practising "Reverse Encouragement"?  Dishing out encouragement has more than the desired affect of (hopefully) encouraging the one needing it.  It also encourages the "Encourager"!  It is my heart's desire to encourage other women!  And as I get older and experience more hills and valleys in life, that desire grows and I am convinced that it is of God.  He placed it there because it is not my natural bent to be an encourager.  My nature is to watch and observe!  But that is not who God is changing me to be.

What I am finding as I see a need for encouragement and boldly encourage, not caring if the person I am trying to encourage thinks I'm a nut or not, is that I AM THE ONE WALKING AWAY ENCOURAGED!  Did you hear that?  I am being encouraged!!!

In God's economy, in doing things His way, there is never one loser and one winner.  There are always TWO winners.  Love someone, LOVE comes back to you!  Accept someone, ACCEPTANCE comes back to you!  Encourage someone, ENCOURAGEMENT comes back to you.  God's way is AWESOME!

Matt 7 v 12:  So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.

So my encouragement to you is to go forth and encourage..... it comes back in heaps, I promise!

God bless
Tracy

Absorb and Absorb!

This past week I have not spent too much time in God's word and I know that the less time I spend in His word, the more frustrated I get, the more people irritate me, the more things annoy me.  Having said that, when I have dipped into His Word I have found gems.

Here they are:

Psalm 84 v 10:  For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

This scripture tells me that even if sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side, and sometimes it looks as though the unrighteous prosper, to be with the Lord, walking His way, even though sometimes it looks hard and unfair to us, it is the only place to be in.... His hands, His will!

Isaiah 46 v 4:  Even to your old age I am He, and even to to hair white with age will I carry you.  I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry and will save you.

This scripture tells me that He never changes, He remains the same, no matter where I am in my life, He will carry me and support me and be there for me.

Such great and encouraging scriptures.  I feel the need to absorb them into my being.  I hope they are an encouragement to you too.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - It WILL Happen!

Some of us are in seasons of rest, some of us are in seasons of great turmoil.  I want to encourage those of you in either season.

Those of you who are in a season of rest, and feel free to soak up as much time with God as possible, I encourage you to be there for those in your life who you can see are in a season of turmoil.  God has allowed us to go through things for all sorts of reasons and I believe one of those reasons is to encourage and uplift those going through tough stuff!

For those of us going through a tough season, don't lose hope, don't stop reading God's word!  Press into Him!  He is there for you.  His word says He will never leave you nor forsake you (Duet 31v6:  "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them;  for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you.")

God will send people across your path who understand, who have been where you are right now.  They will be there for you to lean on.  I know sometimes it feels like you are all alone too!  In those times push into the Lord.  Look up and praise Him.  He will strengthen you.  You may FEEL alone, but truly YOU ARE NOT!

So my encouragement to you today is:
Ps 30 v 11:  You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;  You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.
and
Ps 27 v 14:  Wait on the Lord;  Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart;  Wait, I say, on the Lord!

God bless
Tracy

Realization!

Lately I have realized (again) that I am responsible for much of the temperature in my home.  The Lord has been dealing with my heart lately.  Bitterness, resentment, anger.... All these things do not help with the building of my "home"!  They rather are the fuel to the fire that brings the house down!

Its horrible to realize that as much as I would like to blame anyone else for my resentment or frustration on any given day, I know that I am fully responsible for my behaviour and my reactions.  So, today this scripture is an encouragement for me and anyone else who feels they need it, to acknowledge our responsibility and go for it (building and growing Godly wisdom in our homes) with gusto...

Proverbs 16 v 1:  EVERY WISE woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

Winsome Wednesday - You got questions? God's got answers!

Recently I have been listening to someone preach a doctrine that makes me uncomfortable.  (First clue things are not all good!)  I am not so biblically sharp that I have the "Word" at my fingertips to refute what I am being told.  (Hmmm, need to dig deeper here).  But I am curious, I want to know why I am uncomfortable, I want God's answer on this.  Am I off base?  Is this a good word?  I WANT TO KNOW!!!!!  I want to believe what is God's word on this!

So I start asking questions.  I ask those whose judgement I trust!  I ask those who I respect!  And still I do not have the answer that gives me conviction either way.  I just know I am not comfortable!

So I pray!  Lord, show me Your answer!  Show me Your word!  Bring someone across my path who can guide me to YOUR WORD on this issue!

This week we are having stuff sorted out on our home.  And the guy who leads this team, I start a conversation with him about this topic!  And he is firm, he is direct, he is sure and confident!  AND...he backs what he says with scripture!  And my conscience leaps with excitement inside!  Yes, that feels right!  Yes, God's word is attached and true!  And furthermore, today in reading some of my favourite bloggers' blogs, the general trend favours this outcome!

And I have it!  I have this conviction of what the truth is in this regard!  And I have peace about it.  And so now I need to build into this new understanding and make changes accordingly.

What have I learnt?  If you have questions....God has answers!

The thing is to go to God and His word for those answers because the world, and everyone in it, has an opinion!  But God and His word remains the same, yesterday, today and forever!  And if people add or subtract from His word, absolutely do not take their "opinion" into account.

Hebrews 4 v 12:  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God bless
Tracy

Something I learnt from Ephesus!

Recently, we were blessed to have been able to walk around the ruins of the metropolis that was Ephesus.  Wow!  Really, it was awesome.  Now I did not have any huge emotional or spiritual awakening because of being there.  I was curious though, to be walking the same streets that Paul walked in, and to see the Amphitheatre that he preached in.

Amphitheatre Paul preached in

I took tons of pictures.  I love structures and architecture and interesting buildings.  I am embarrassed (not really) to say that I did not listen to the aunty leading our tour group.  I was too busy clicking away at every interesting nook and cranny.

Round about the time I got home and started putting all my pictures on my computer, I read a devotional that had scriptures about walls.  Walls that had been torn down!  Walls that God helped the people rebuild.  But the scripture that touched me the most was in Isaiah 58 v 12:  Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell in.

When I read this scripture, every broken down ruined building I saw in Ephesus came to my mind.  It was like the Lord gave me a visual of what someone who is centred on Him, wanting to please Him, would have to work with and with faith and His grace, that person would be able to help another start the restoration process in their lives.  Help them to gain strength in the Lord, help them to overcome their battles in the Lord.

  • Imagine being called the repairer of the breach?  It brings to mind helping to bring healing in relationships
  • Imagine being called Restorer of the streets to dwell in?  Brings to mind helping another to be able to walk with confidence in the Lord.

So, my encouragement to you today is no matter how weak or broken you feel, when you lay all you are at His feet, He restores you, so you in turn can help bring restoration in others.

God bless and be encouraged
Tracy
