Winsome Wednesday - Thank You Jesus!

In the last few years Easter, and what it all means to us as Christians, has become more and more meaningful to me.  This holiday season I know, what Christ has done for me, and for you, and for every other human being, will be in my thoughts and in my heart way more than ever before.

Today, I want to say "Thank You Jesus".  Without You, without Your sacrifice, without Your obedience, my future would not exist.  "Thank You Jesus".

John 3 v16:  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

He is Risen

He is Risen!  Jesus has conquered death!  Jesus has triumphed over evil!  He has taken on the sin of the world so we can have everlasting life with Him and the Father.

Thank You Jesus!  Thank You Jesus!

God bless you all, ladies over this Easter period.  Let the Lord and His sacrifice for you be upper most in your minds and hearts.

Just Keep Rowing...

I went to church for the first time in ages the other day and as I arrived I was already preparing myself to not enjoy it.  Its me, not the church, I promise!  Anyway, there was a guest speaker by the name of Grayson Jones, from the UK.

From the time he opened his mouth, until the time he sat down, he may as well have been talking to my husband and myself alone.  Okay, okay, others are going through tough things too!!!!  I had been going through a bit of a pity party where I reckon God hears, God knows, but God is busy elsewhere.  Ever felt like that?  Well, Grayson Jones pretty much sorted that wrong thinking out.

The service focused on the disciples being stuck in a storm just after feeding the 5000+ with 5 loaves and 2 fish.  They were fearful and wondered where Jesus was in all this.  (Mark 6 v 45-52)

Mr Jones made some very valuable points for me in his sermon:
  1. These men were in God's will, Jesus had told them to go to the other side.
  2. They had done nothing wrong to be in the situation they were in.
  3. While in the middle of the storm they were using all their energy to keep going, to get to the other side, but they were getting nowhere fast
  4. Jesus saw them from the hill, He knew where they were and their situation.
  5. Jesus is in control, He came to them on the water and calmed the storm.
Now this was awesome and freeing for me.  Firstly, because immediately the thought that we were going through this horrible storm because of us, disappeared.  Secondly, they were in God's will.  This storm is right where God wanted us to be.  And thirdly and most importantly, God is in CONTROL no matter the weather!!!!

Mr Jones summarized it like this:
  1. Keep going - push through (God wants to cultivate our faith)
  2. Keep rowing - doing the daily normal stuff (reading the word, quiet times, praying, trusting, going to church)
  3. Keep knowing - Remind yourself that His word is Good and True and meant for you
  4. Keep growing - when we get through the storm, because we went through, we have grown and the rewards are out of this world!!!
See why its so important to go to church?  (she says to herself....)
Heb 10 v 25:  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Music Experiment!

This past weekend my mind and body were suffering the consequences of letting all this "stuff" get to me.  So I decided to update my music on my ipod and just spend the weekend blasting my negative thoughts away with praise and worship music.

Experiment - Blast negative thoughts away with praise and worship music

Results - positive - literally!

You can't think much when you focus on the words and start enjoying the music.  It lifted my mood, changed my focus.  It reminded me that I'm focusing on the problem and not the problem-solver.  It also reminded me that God wants me to praise and worship HIM and focus on HIM and leave the problem/situation to HIM.  Seriously it is that easy but we choose to complicate things.

By the time this is published, and all you lovely ladies are linking up, this thing will be over or drawn out or whatever, but no matter what, God does not change and HE is my God and Saviour.  HE will get the glory for the victory we will have, whenever that may be.  In the meantime, praise and worship.
2 Chron 20 v 17:  You will not need to fight in this battle.  Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, Who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!  Do not fear of be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.

Okay, where is that volume button.......

God bless ladies

Day 2 of walking around Jericho

Day 2 of walking around the walls of Jericho has arrived.  I do not know where it will lead but I do know the Lord wants me to trust Him blindly.  I have not been doing this very well.  I have been stressed, anxious, my muscles are taut!  I keep feeling the need to inhale and exhale deeply, to release all this tension.

But these things I know:
  • My God is my vindicator (Ps 43 v 1: Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation...)
  • He is my strong fortress (Ps 18 v 2:  The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer)
  • He loves me and will protect me (Ps 91 v 7:  A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your righthand; but it shall not come near you)
  • He will not allow me to be put to shame (Ps 31 v 17:  Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You; let the wicked be ashamed)
  • He works what others have meant for my harm, for my good (Gen 50 v 20:  But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good...)
  • I have favour with man and with God because His word says so (Prov 3 v 4: And so find favour and high esteem in the sight of God and man)

So, today I walk around my Jericho, in faith!  Knowing that my God is with me every step of the way.  I do not know the outcome, but He does and He asks that I trust Him for a good outcome.

My encouragement to you is no matter how dark it seems, no matter how fruitless and useless it appears, God is in CONTROL.  He is more than capable of making success out of failure.  Remember too His word is not void, nor is it anything other than the truth.  Trust Him, trust His Word.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Nothing! Absolutely Nothing!

Nothing, nothing....no nothing can separate us from the love of God!  Not our actions, not our past, not who we are, not what we've said... Nothing!

Actually, only sin separates us from God, not from His love though.  And because of His grace and mercy He gives us opportunity daily to come before Him and clean the slate.  Relationship with the Lord is the only way we can keep doing heart checks, (Ps 26 v 2:  Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my mind and my heart.)

The word says it so well:
Romans 8 v 35 - 38:  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  (36) As it is written:  "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." (37) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  (38) nor height nor depth, nor other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing you do is going to chase God away.  He just isn't phased by anything we do that we think is bad.  He is LOVE!

God bless
Tracy

Blogoversary Makeover!

So, I have finally decided!  I am so glad you all gave your opinions.  At first I was completely confused, but then slowly but surely what I truly wanted to reflect here set in my mind.  My blog is called "My Daily WALK in His Grace."  Its right there in the title!

Every day is a new journey.  Every day is a day where we have to choose our path.  I pray I always choose the path God has set aside for me but I'm sure I regularly take wrong turns.  And every day the path is different!  Sometimes rocky and steep, sometimes picturesque, sometimes level and even!  Whatever the pathway, whatever the direction, so long as we choose to walk with the Lord at our sides, we WILL get to the other end!  Stronger, more able, and more whole of heart (although sometimes it doesn't feel like it - which is a reminder to not make decisions on feelings!!!)

Ps 25 v 4-5:  Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.  (5) Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

Ps 23 v 3:  He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His names's sake.

I hope you are encouraged to keep keeping on along the path that the Lord directs you on.  It can be tough, it will at times be really easy, and then other times it may feel as though the Lord Himself is carrying us.  Whichever path you find yourself on right now, know God's word says He will never leave us nor forsake us.

God bless
Tracy

Winsome Wednesday - Today is the Day!

I am learning that waiting around for the the axe to fall is a waste of the time I do have!  I am learning that although in 2 weeks time I may be embroiled in a very horrible uncomfortable situation, today, tomorrow, I am not.  So I am going to try enjoy every day that the Lord has given me to its fullest.

That might be cycling for the first time in years.  Yes, we went cycling on the mountain paths this week!  Can you believe it?!  It might mean lying on the couch the whole day because I WANT to, not because I am so emotionally and spiritually frozen that I cannot move.  No sirree!!!

Cell phone pics of my first bike ride in "FOREVER"

What is the point I am trying to make?  There may be something tough in your life right now.  There is for us.  But I am not going to lose any more hours, days, weeks, to being miserable or expecting the worst!  Or for that matter, just allowing the evil one to steal my time and my thoughts.   It is a challenge, there is no denying that!  But every step in the right direction is a good one.

Matt 6 v 25:  Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Matt 6 v 34:  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I hope you are encouraged to enjoy today!  It is a gift from God.

God bless
Tracy

2nd Blogoversary coming up!

So, I am amazed to say that I have been blogging for almost 2 years now.  In a few days I will have reached this milestone.  Now, I am one who gets excited about a thing, enjoys it for a season, and then moves on to the next thing.  This blogging thing, however, has stuck!  Firmly!

But I think it is more about the subject matter than the blogging itself.  And, the amazing friends I have met along the way.  The Lord has broadened my horizons right here in front of this little screen!  I have grown both spiritually and as a person.  I have learnt so much about myself and about my fellow (wo)man.  And - I have met and intending meeting more of you - just saying.... :)

1 Thess 5 v 11:  Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing.

So, this blog space needs an Anniversary "makeover".  I want to simplify things and have clean lines and make sure its not too busy etc.  So, below I have set out some of my favourite pictures and I wanted to know if you guys would help me by voting for the one you like the most for the new header of my blog.

I need to choose something I can live with for a while.  I am terrible when it comes to stuff like this, I want to move the furniture around all the time!!  So, what do you think?  Any favourites?

I look forward to hearing from you
God bless
Tracy
