Follow Up on my 2013 word - TRUST! Part 1

Isn't it amazing how wrong we get it sometimes?  When I chose my word for 2013, TRUST, I knew I was trusting the Lord for a BIG thing.  It was a frightening and worrying and awful thing and I was trusting the Lord to resolve it with truth, favour and mercy.  Well, the Lord over and abundantly came through for us.  After 6 long years in this issue, the Lord gave us victory in Him, His mercy and grace were not reliant on my behaviour or what I did or did not do!  No, His mercy and grace were reliant on WHO HE IS!  And thankfully, He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

So, after that, midway through the year I felt my word might be a bit redundant!  Um..... NO!  There is so much more I have to trust for.  So much more I have to lean into Him and push through for!

  • My precious daughters are spreading their wings and experiencing life through their own decisions - I have to trust the Lord with them
  • There are plans we have that we believe the Lord has opened doors for - I have to trust Him for those
  • My husband is walking a new business path - I have to trust the Lord with and for him as he seeks to do what he feels is right as the bread-winner
  • And the list goes on
Yes, this is a year where my trust has been tested BIG time!  But I think each new challenge brings a whole new level of trust.

Not only that,
  • Do I remember how God came through for me before?
  • Will I apply that faith I learnt last time?
  • Will that faith rise automatically or will I stub my toe (again) a few times before the truth of the fact that God never changes lights my heart and mind?
So, my word "TRUST" remains one I have to hang onto through this year (and forever).  I need to and want to learn to respond automatically in faith to "TRUST" my Lord and Saviour.  I do not want these painful lessons to go to waste (or be repeated - urgh).

My encouragement to you today is that your trust in the Lord, operated in faith, is never wasted!  Things might not pan out the way you expect, but you can TRUST that His way is ALWAYS the best way!

Joshua 1 v 9:  Have I not commanded you?   Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

God bless
Tracy

  1. "Trust" was a great word to choose. It really grows your faith, doesn't it?

  2. Hi Tracy! I like the idea that seeing God come through for you lifts to a new level of trust. Applying that new faith. That's a great thought. I think I make The Lord 'win me' every time, and that's so bad. He is showing me that he is worthy of trust, and that it is infinite.

So happy that whatever you were worried about has been resolved. What a weight off your shoulders! Thanks be to God. He is so good.
    Blessings!

  3. I'm choosing to trust Him each day...and He is always faithful! It's been a challenging year in many ways, however, I know that His plan is always good. I'm trust Him for what lies ahead!

    Blessings, Joan

    1. Hi Joan, amen, only the Lord's way is the best way no matter how many solutions we come up with. Its in the looking back we see where trusting Him was the best thing and right thing

  4. Trust - yup, I can relate! I am so grateful that the Lord has shown you this year how very trust-worthy He is! We will not be disappointed when we rely on Him. You're so right - each new challenge is a chance to grow.

My word this year was *direction* - and as I posted today, I have finally understood what God was teaching me about that!

We have to trust that God knows what He's doing - all the time - whether we "get it" or not. His way, His timing, His purpose - for He is always working for our good. I need to trust that more...

    GOD BLESS!
