This Too Shall Pass!

Life really sucks sometimes.  We have hardships, we have relationship stresses and strains.  Our world falls apart, or it feels like it anyway!  And sometimes it just feels like the good old days are a thing of the past!

But I want to tell you, you are in a season.  A season that will pass.  I believe God allows these seasons in our lives to get us to dig our roots down deeper.  Deeper in His word.  Deeper in His grace and mercy!  And when we are ready, when God's timing comes to pass, the season WILL change.

I know the last 6 years I have begged and pleaded with the Lord to change the season we were in.  It was tough, it was painful, it was sometimes very very lonely!  But I can feel the seasons changing now.  I can feel a renewing and a refreshing.  One of the reasons I believe this is because it seems the devil is trying to convince me of the contrary.  But because I determined to go through that tough season (although often kicking and screaming) with the Lord, trying to do things His way, I feel I am recognising the tricks of the evil one on this one.  Its actually so exciting and I feel humbled that the Lord is keeping my eyes open to this and I am not reacting the way I would have a few years back.

So, please be encouraged that if things are tough right now, try your very best to do things God's way, and you will come to another season a different, deeper person, closer to your Saviour.

What is God's way?

  • Praise Him despite your circumstances
  • Look up, not around you at your circumstances
  • Remain thankful, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.  At times all I felt I could be thankful for was the ability to inhale and exhale.
  • Let go and let God
  • Very important, read God's word with a hunger and faith that He will speak to you, change you, lead you and guide you.  His word is living, alive, powerful!
Having said that, know that this too shall pass.  A new season is awaiting you.  Remind yourself of this in faith.  There have been times that I had to keep reminding myself that I can't give up because I may be within reach of the goal, the beautiful valley of peace and restoration, that place where this tribulation has its end.  And, each tribulation does have an end.  It has a purpose, one we don't always recognise, but it does have one.

One of the tools the Lord used to encourage me and help me through was this awesome family of blogging women who reached out to me and prayed for me, so I in turn offer you the same.  Can I pray for you?  Connect with my via email for privacy but let me know!  God has given us each other to pray for and lift one another up!

Eccl 3 vs 1-8:  To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:  (2) A time to be born, and a time to die;  A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; (3) A time to kill, and a time to heal;  A time to beak down, and a time to build up;  (4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh;  A time to mourn, and a time to dance;  (5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones;  A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;  (6) A time to gain, and a time to lose;  A time to keep.  And a time to throw away;  (7) A time to tear, and a time to sew;  a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;  (8)  A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.

God bless
Tracy

  1. Amen Tracy! The devil wants to see us down-hearted and discouraged, but God says, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand". We must stay prepared to stand against the tactics of the devil!

Thanks for your encouragement, and for your open invitation for prayer. You are a blessing my friend!

    Prayers and love!

  2. This is such a good encouragement to all and wonderful advice. Sometimes life is just hard and it seems as if we will never find our way out of the desert but it has always been during the difficult times that I have drawn closer to Him...stronger in my faith. I have found this blogging community to be a wonderful source of encouragement as well...thanks for the open invitation for prayer

  3. Tracy, you will never know how much I needed to hear this TODAY. First of all, "This too shall pass" was something one of my beloved grandfathers used to say. So that was a precious reminder.

And, as I am taking on new duties caring for my elderly parents, and having to deal with my siblings in new ways, I am finding myself in a very exhausting season. Physically tiring, but emotionally and mentally, too. And oh, the enemy is busy. Old hurts being stirred up, new hurts being inflicted. Disappointment, fear, rejection. All screaming for my attention.

But, you're so right. In a season of challenge, God is closer than ever. And I feel my roots growing, one painful and glorious inch at a time.

    GOD BLESS!

  6. Tracy, I read your post yesterday (without translation). Now, Tuesday I read it with translation and it touches me even more than yesterday. I plan on to post. A link to your blog My question to the end of my post is: in what season do you live? When people click on the link, they will get more spiritual food about season in life.

Your blog is a blessing to me today.

  7. Dear Tracy
Yes, dear friend, this is so true. Winters are especially hard for me because it causes fibromyalgia pain to flare up very much, but this morning as I was experiencing extreme pain, it was as if our Pappa whispered to my heart that this too will pass!! Visiting from Jen's.
    Sweet blessings.

  15. Hi Tracy. I feel like I've been sharing only half way in my blogging lately. In fact, I haven't really been blogging much at all. I know that is a symptom of what is going on in my life (besides the craziness of our move). Right now, I am so discouraged. I try to be cheerful, but today that is wearing me down. The verse "pressed in on all sides" comes to mind. As I read your post above, I started to tear up because I have been so stressed lately. So stressed. I know that God will carry me (us) through this all, but right now, while I'm in it, I feel so week and tired. I am trusting God, but still feel pretty burdened. I will keep on giving everything to Him, for He is always faithful, always just, always loving and always there. I do have so much to be thankful for and when I focus on that, I am encouraged, just as God promises. But sometimes, the weight of "issues" doesn't only wear me down, it pins me down. Ugh. Thank you for your post today, Tracy!
