God Remains the Same!

The other day my daughter made me so angry!  I threatened to ground her!  But at the end of the day, I thought through my anger and went and did what she wanted/needed me to do anyway.  I was angry with her because I felt that which made me a mom to her was being challenged and my hurt heart wanted to lash out and NOT do what she wanted/needed me to do!

So, as we moms do, I did what was needed to be done.  The next day at church the pastor spoke on how, even though we are unfaithful, or even though we mess up, God remains faithful to us.  God's love and behaviour is not determined by our faithfulness or lack thereof.

My daughter being belligerent, and the pastor's words of the next day, really spoke into the situation we find ourselves in.  We have been attacked and maligned and lied about and as this situation comes to a close in our lives I fear that my actions over the past 5 1/2 years will influence God in how He allows things to pan out!

Well, that is just a load of rubbish Tracy.  Seriously, what am I saying about God?  Besides the ton of scriptures the Lord has opened my eyes up to I am making a statement with my fears that God is influenced by my good or bad behaviour.  God is NOT!  HE REMAINS THE SAME.  HE LOVES US DESPITE OURSELVES AND WHAT HE WANTS TO HAVE HAPPEN, WILL, DESPITE HOW WE GET IN THE WAY!

2 Tim 2v13 says:  If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself!

Did you read that?  God has to remain true to Himself, to His word!

  • God has told us that that which someone means for our harm He will use for our good (Gen 50v20)
  • The hole that a man tries to dig for you, he himself will fall into (Prov 26v27)
  • All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord (Rom 8v28)
  • They will know you by your fruits (Matt 7 v 17-18)
  • Stand still and see how I fight the battle for you, and give you the victory (2 Chron 20v17)
And there are many more scriptures.... God has given us these scriptures!  So, though I may have lost my cool often and raged, though I may have said a wrong word at a wrong time, though my faith was incredibly fragile often, and I feared the worst often.... God will still do what God said He would do.

Stand firm with childlike faith!

My encouragement to you is to stand firm on God's word for you, daily come before Him and clear the slate and trust that He is not like us, fickle and weak!  No, He is strong and true and FAITHFUL no matter what!

God bless
Tracy

  4. Beautiful Tracy,
I just love that dog standing firm. Too cute. Rest in Him no matter what.
As for motherhood - we can't be perfect - but our kids turn out okay because they are God's children first.

  5. Oh Tracy, I think that is one of my absolutely favorite verses....When we are faithless, He remains faithful! What a blessed hope that is, that our hope is not in us. Our joy is not in us. And most of all, our faith is not even dependent on us...but Him!

  6. Great post for a mom (me) who has *lost her cool* a few times!! Thankfully, God's behavior is not based on mine! His love is steadfast and unchanging. He is faithful, even when I am not.

    What a blessing!!

    GOD BLESS!

  7. Thank you for sharing at "Tell Me a Story." Your cute dogs are so adorable!

Even in the darkest storm, the sun is still brilliantly shining, we just can't see it. God is working behind the scenes. Things will probably never be the same between certain persons - - but God never changes and his love is everlasting to YOU and also to those who are probably considered "enemies".

Oh how wonderful it would be if everything always turned out peachy for me according to my will - - but then we would be calling the shots, and God has his own will in mind.

  8. Dear Tracy
Oh, how I relate to that Dachshund showing dangerous teeth!! He gives a new meaning to dynamite that comes in small packages! Just the other day I read somewhere that if God could change, He never was God in the first place. So true. The fact that He stays the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever is like an anchor to my soul!
    Much love, dear one
    Mia

  9. Absolutely! Regardless to what is going on, God is true to His WORD. Unlike man, HE does not lie. Have a blessed week!
