Winsome Wednesday - Today is the Day!

I am learning that waiting around for the the axe to fall is a waste of the time I do have!  I am learning that although in 2 weeks time I may be embroiled in a very horrible uncomfortable situation, today, tomorrow, I am not.  So I am going to try enjoy every day that the Lord has given me to its fullest.

That might be cycling for the first time in years.  Yes, we went cycling on the mountain paths this week!  Can you believe it?!  It might mean lying on the couch the whole day because I WANT to, not because I am so emotionally and spiritually frozen that I cannot move.  No sirree!!!

Cell phone pics of my first bike ride in "FOREVER"

What is the point I am trying to make?  There may be something tough in your life right now.  There is for us.  But I am not going to lose any more hours, days, weeks, to being miserable or expecting the worst!  Or for that matter, just allowing the evil one to steal my time and my thoughts.   It is a challenge, there is no denying that!  But every step in the right direction is a good one.

Matt 6 v 25:  Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Matt 6 v 34:  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I hope you are encouraged to enjoy today!  It is a gift from God.

God bless
Tracy

  1. Hi Tracy! Sounds like God is talking to us about the same thing! If you have time, check out my post titled "Teach Us to Number Our Days". I wrote it as God was speaking to me about this same stuff.

Blessings to you...I hope everything works out in a peaceful way!

  2. Amen Tracy; great enthusiastic post friend! There is nothing more fulfilling than being rested and ready for the brand new day that God has planned for us. Life would be so much better if we didn’t feel we had to be in control of everything all of the time!

    Blessings and love sweet friend!

  3. I ditto Denise's Amen! In reality, at some point 'tomorrow' will bring a 'horrible, uncomfortable situation' for each of us... for in each life some rain will fall. Satan would love for us to sit and wallow in worry and fear and allow it to consume and paralyze us. I'm so glad you're taking back your life! Thank you for writing this today. I've been living in dread of something coming up as well, and asking God to help me to take every thought captive. This post is such an encouragement! Thanks!

  4. What a great attitude for each of us to embrace. Worry has a way of robbing of us the beauty of our present moment. And the present is all we really have-no other moment is guaranteed.

  6. Great advice. I love that you took up biking...I also tend to become less active when I'm dealing with a difficulty. Praying your situation will turn out well.

  7. Enjoy each day and let God do the worrying for us! =) Sounds fun biking. We bought bikes a few years ago but haven't ridden them much. I think I'll pull them out and give it a try again!

  9. Such an encouraging message. I've got a few things looming on the horizon right now - and yes, they sometimes threaten to ruin my *today* with endless fretting. But, tomorrow is another day. Today I am going to live life fully.

This is the day the Lord has made - I am going to rejoice and be glad in it!

    GOD BLESS!

  11. Great encouragement today Tracy. Allowing the evil one to steal our time or thoughts is something we are all good at. So glad to hear that you are taking your life back...through the Lord...and not going to allow the evil one to do that to you any more! Praise the LORD!!

Blessings and Love to you Tracy.

  12. Thanks for your encouraging post, Tracy. I didn't feel like going to church tonight, but the Holy Spirit impressed on me my need to be there. It was nearly the end of the service before I knew why God so strongly wanted me there, ...and it was to give me encouragement re. some family issues that I was worrying about. So, I got a double dose of encouragement - from you and from Andy Stanley!

  14. Because sometimes you have to choose to move on... Paul had to learn to be content, I don't see why we Christians think we do not have to do the same, that it will automatically come. Great post!
