Winsome Wednesday - Worldly Wisdom?

A while back someone made a judgement on my husband and I without hearing two sides of an event.  He judged us by the word of one man whose jealousy has unfortunately got the better of him.  He stated that biblically he did not have to have anything to do with us until we made right with this person.

I was angry because we had done nothing to this person. And I told him that even a judge hears both sides of a story before making a judgement.

Last week, a judge put us in a position where, having heard one side of a story (not ours), she instructed both parties, for the sake of the family, that both parties should settle!  She had not even heard our side of the story!  I WAS LIVID!  I WAS BROKEN!  I WANTED GOOD OLD TESTAMENT VENGEANCE!

After thinking it through and removing emotion from our decision making, we decided that this was not the route God was sending us on.  We are not settling. This for us is about pushing through.  Trusting Him and all the scripture and word He has given us!  In fact the judge's words were wrong.  This is in fact causing vindication and restoration in the family.  True colours are being shown.  Truth is being revealed!

So what is my point?  A judge, who has much wisdom and much experience in such matters, is not the person upon which to make decisions with regards to your spiritual walk.  An advocate and lawyer too have great knowledge in things of the law.  But if you are seeking to do things God's way, and you do not have peace in your heart about what people are advising you to do, DON'T DO IT!  Do what you feel God is leading you to do.  He has said that He will give you His peace.  John 14 v 27:  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

This is what I am standing on in this circumstance and any other where others offer worldly advice:  Ps 20 v 7:  Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;  But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

My encouragement to you is let your conscience, led by the Lord and His word, guide you.  Let His peace guide you and not the wisdom of the world.

God bless
Tracy

    1. Hi Brenda, thank you sweet friend but as long winded and painful as this thing has been and is, I know God will give us the victory. All He wants in return is the glory, and all the glory is His.

  5. Love your faith Tracy; keep trusting and believing in God's promises, and the rest will fall into place! When you have faith in your integrity and your own abilities there is nothing you and your husband cannot accomplish. :)

Praying that His peace continues to guide you and your hubby through this!

  7. The same mentality of your judge is in the public school systems who suspend both the bully and the bullied - the bully for throwing the punch(es) and the bullied for defending himself. It is disheartening. Yet - it is when we are disheartened and struggling that our faith counts - becomes more fragrant, more beautiful. Praying for you Tracy!

  10. Absolutely my friend..."Do what you feel God is telling you to." No matter what! I can so relate. Am headed to China in a few days in hopes to advocate for the disabled children there. Everyone has come out of the woodwork to criticize me. Yet, I know my husband is for me...And God has clearly called me! Let's keep pressing forward, toward the faith...in order that we might win the prize! Prayers & encouragement as we mover forward together!
