Winsome Wednesday - Inner peace with your decision?

Two weeks back we made a decision to push through!  To stick it out!  To trust in the word we have read!  To trust in the word given to us by other Godly people!  We decided to ignore the worldly advice given to us.  We decided to choose God's way (as we perceived it) over the world's way!  And I truly believe we have made the right choice.  Seriously, when is it ever not a good idea to choose God's way? :)

And since then, we have received more word, more encouragement, more confirmation.... that we have chosen correctly.

My encouragement to you is to trust that inner voice inside of you.  The one you have tempered with the Word of the Lord, the one where God gives you an inner peace that sometimes just does not make sense.  Trust that the Lord is guiding you with His peace.

This is one of the great things we read last week that make us believe we have chosen God's way.  It is an excerpt from the book "God Calling" by the Two Listeners:

"Near the Goal
In a race it is not the start that hurts, not the even pace of the long stretch.  It is when the goal is in sight that heart and nerves and courage and muscles are strained almost beyond human endurance, almost to breaking point.
So with you now the goal is in sight, you need your final cry to Me (God).  Can you not see by the nerve and heart rack of the past few days that your race is nearly run.  Courage, courage.  Heed My voice of encouragement.  Remember that I am by your side, spurring you on to victory...."

It goes on to say how many have given up the race just before it was to be won.  We don't want to be one of those people.  We want to have victory in Christ!  My encouragement to you, is hang in there!  The race has an end!  The goal will be in sight.  And if you push through, the victory you have in Christ will be very very sweet.  Because you would have overcome in Christ!  Remember then, to give God the glory!

Ps 29 v 11:  The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.

God bless
Tracy

  1. So glad God is continuing to speak to you, Tracy. And these are such good words for all of us. Keeping our eyes on the goal, running the race even when it feels grueling. Thanks! : )

  2. Such an encouraging post, Tracy! I was inspired by it. It's interesting to me, too, that next Monday I'm posting something about that *inner voice* speaking to me. Aren't you so glad that He talks to us?! I am glad that you are receiving confirmation that you are listening to His voice, hearing what He's saying. And, of course, you're obeying what you hear!!

Hang in there - run well, my friend.

    GOD BLESS!

  3. Such an encouragement this is! Never thought about that illustration before....When we see the end, we struggle all the more. So true. Yes, that we might press on to finish the race, win the prize, for His glory, my friend!

  4. Love your faith and enthusiasm here Tracy! We have to avoid the "battle of our will vs. God’s" and desire to know His will, rather than being more interested in making our own plans. If we settle for following our own will rather than His will we may end up getting less than what we imagined and possibly more than we ever wanted!

Thankful that you and hubby are faithful and trusting; you are such an encouragement!
    Hugs!

  5. Oh, that little voice - it saves lives. Learning to listen and to recognize it - at first it's scary but then it is so liberating! Blessings to you in this race! Standing with you in faith, cheering, "GOAL."

  6. Thanks for the encouragement to persevere. So often we do give up right when we were on the verge of victory. I'm thankful I didn't give up a year ago when I was facing a difficult decision. Glad yours is working out well, too. To God be the glory!

  7. Thanks for this encouragement today. We are praying through a decision that goes against what the world thinks. It is difficult, but when God is there, we have a great peace about it.
    Blessings,
