Praise, Thanksgiving, Worship!

My husband and I read through Psalm 6 and 7 the other morning.  Great encouraging scriptures about how God will see to our enemies and they won't get away with their behaviour and how God is there for you.  It was a powerful reminder that God sees all.  But having read the 2 chapters which are short and sweet and to the point, the last verse of chapter 7 stood out most for me:
Ps 7 vs 7:  I will thank the Lord because He is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

For me, I felt the Lord pointing out to me to leave my enemies in His hands, leave my hurts and disappointments with people for Him to deal with.  My job is to praise Him, sing praises to Him, honour Him, give a sacrifice of thanksgiving.

These are my part in God working in my circumstances.
Praise
Worship
Thanksgiving

His work?
  • He hears my supplication
  • He receives my prayer
  • He deals with my enemy
  • He protects me
  • He prevents me from being put to shame by my enemy
  • He is just!
His job is far more intense and He is equipped to do all He sets out to do.  My job is to give Him glory as He works to give me the victory.

My encouragement to you, no matter your circumstance, especially if you have no answers, no solutions, praise Him, worship Him, give Him honour and glory and thanksgiving.  When you do that He gives you the strength and durability to stand firm while He fights on your behalf.

God bless
Tracy

  1. Though I don't know what you have been facing, as I read your post I thought of the song, "Even If" by Kutless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiYAUNJPrMU) that speaks of praising God for who He is, "even if the healing doesn't come, life falls apart, and dreams are still undone." Thank you for this faith-filled post, Tracy.

  2. Hi Tracy, I love how you pointed out our part and God's part. Some times we attempt to get those things confused don't we?

  4. Hi Tracy
Such a good reminder of what we are supposed to do. Praising and worshiping is so important! I forget sometimes that if I were to do this everything else would be okay...no matter how it worked out.

  8. Tracy, I begin my quiet time in the psalms and look for attributes to praise God for. They're unending! Thanks for the reminder to begin there, and everything else will fall into place. Visiting from Hungry for God today and glad I did :)

  9. Good Morning my friend! Thanks so much for sharing this. That is the key! When you feel yourself getting down, that's when you start to praise Him. The Bible tells us when we praise, we stop the enemy dead in his tracks and we strengthen ourselves. Easy equation! Thanks again Tracy and thanks for dropping by the link-up! Have a blessed week! ;-)

  10. Amen, this is so encouraging. Time in prayer with your spouse to the heavenly Father always brings such joy to him and strengthens marriages. We are always better at praising his name while in the Word, and together!

Stop by and say hello when you get a chance!

  12. Thanks for sharing at "Tell Me a Story." No matter how we often we are under attack, our God is mindful and an ever present help in time of trouble. I found this verse in Zephaniah a few days ago, and share it here with you:

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

  13. It is so good to know that HE has our backs. We don't have to fight the enemy - HE does that for us!

  14. Amen, my friend! What can man do to us, when the Lord is on our side? The enemy is under our feet, so we can live victorious, more than conquerors, with LOVE on our side....Filled with praise, worship, & thanksgiving! :)

  15. This was a lovely reminder to let God handle our enemies instead of seeking revenge. Thank you!
