Practical tip - Sing out Loud!

Sometimes I find my mind is mulling over stuff endlessly!  I'm not focusing and I'm having these mind debates which truly are going nowhere!

What I sometimes remember to do, especially in the car, is turn my praise music on - LOUD - so LOUD that I can't hear my thoughts anymore!

Then, I sing!  Off key no doubt!  Laugh worthy to anyone listening (smiles) but, its honest and God loves that and when I reach my destination and turn the car off, I have regained a little spring in my step and now God's music is in my head instead of mind-numbing unresolved problems.

Ok, maybe not SO loud?!

And you know what?  When you mentally let go of stuff, God can start working on it.  The longer you mind wrestle, the longer the wait because God gives us free will.  He will take your problems - when you give them to Him!

So, my tip for the day - sing those negative thoughts away LOUDLY!

Ex 15 v 21:  And Miriam answered them: "sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously, the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!"

His grace is sufficient!

One thing I am learning is no matter what I go through His grace is sufficient for me!  Once I remind myself of that fact, my inner self settles!  All that goes on in my world starts to fall into 'correct' perspective.

It is very important to not be convinced or influenced by the ways and solutions of the world.  If we do we will not find that peace, that God peace, that we so desperately need in our day to day lives as we muddle through.  Its so important to renew our minds with the word.

Rom 12 v 2:  Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So, if we continue to keep pushing doubts and lies out of our minds with the renewing of our minds and replace them with God's truth, then we will see how God's grace, His unmerited favour, is present in our lives and we will see how His grace is sufficient, all encompassing, humbling, overwhelming, beautiful, and way way more than we deserve.

One door closes - and - Another one opens!

I thought that I was to be part of organising a women's conference and I was very excited as I had never been part of something like this.  But for me, the puzzle pieces just seemed to be shifting in a different direction.

One closes - and - another opens!

So on reflecting on all that had transpired I made a decision to step back.  I felt such peace.  I communicated this to the relevant parties and I felt that all was taken in the right spirit, and, I am still looking forward to the conference.

A couple of hours later I was checking my emails and someone had contacted me with regards to being a group leader of 5 ladies to weekly encourage and pray for one another.

And.... my heart leapt!  This is my heart's desire.  To encourage other women!  To pray for and with them.  This lovely lady had spoken right into my heart and I knew this to be God's leading.

Is He not amazing?  I have come through the things I have been through because of women God has placed on my path, and now I am being placed on the path of those who need encouragement or an ear to hear, or a prayer warrior.

I want to encourage you with 2 things today:

  1. if you continue to seek, you will eventually find your niche in Christ, and
  2. what you go through in life God will use to help others.
Is 42 v 16:  I will bring the blind by a way they did not know, I will lead them in paths they have not known.  I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight.  These things I will do for them, and not forsake them.

In anticipation, I am walking through this open door...

God bless friends

Frustrated?!

Right now I'm at a great place of frustration.  Man!  I could pull my hair out!  I can't get into any kind of routine.  I can't get anything done.  I can't focus!  I can't make plans.  I have much to do, much to get done, but ... I do nothing.

The most important thing I should be doing.... I am not!
  • I should be looking up - so that all this interference, all the waiting and indecision and unknowns, don't become my focus.
  • I should be focusing on God's word, reading it, absorbing it, drinking it in.
  • I should be praising, worshipping, and expressing thankfulness.
  • I should be focusing on Christ and let Him work out the details
Ps 121 v 1-2:  I will lift up my eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help? (2) My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Is 40 v 8:  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.

Reading God's word and praising and worshipping Him will not necessarily  solve your problem right now but the problem will become smaller as God becomes bigger in your focus.

My encouragement to you (and to me), look up!  Look up!  Look up!

God bless

To do or not to do? That is the Question

Recently we have been fellowshipping with some lovely people who have strong beliefs with regards to the law and grace.  I am trying to absorb it all whilst praying in earnest that I would know what it is God wants me to learn.

VS

Over the last 2 weeks I've tried to write some posts and .... just draw a blank.

This is what I am discovering:  Its about LOVE.
If you live in love you will not allow how you live, eg eat, dress, act, etc be a stumbling block to another because if someone is grieved by your actions, then your actions are not done in love (Rom 14 v 15).  {I would like to add that in my experience there are those who 'choose' to be offended no matter what so I do not include them in this definition}

We should live something like this:
Rom 14 v 9-10:  for the commandments, "you shall not commit adultery," "you shall not murder," "you shall not steal," "you shall not bear false witness," "you shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "you shall love your neighbour as yourself."  (10) Love does no harm to a neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilment of the law.

So, I am learning its not about rules and regulations.  Its about love and when you love the way God wants us to love, you kind of do the 10 Commandments naturally.

I am grateful for God's grace, His love, and His patience with me whilst I seek to know Him more.  Thank you Lord for Your word.

I would love to hear from you how you feel about the subject of Law vs Grace.  Leave long comments, I don't mind.  Look forward to hearing from you.

God bless
Tracy
