Why indeed?

I read this the other day:
Why would God promise a refuge unless He knew we would need a place to hide once in a while? - Neva Coyle
I was not amused!!!  Okay, I get it.  There are going to be tough times and .... yes, they will/are/can be/have been painful.  But God promises us a refuge, a hiding place.  A place where we can sit on His lap, turn our faces into His heart and TRUST Him to make it all better.  And He does, in His time!

Ps 144 v 1-2:  Blessed be the Lord,
  • my Rock and
  • my keen and firm Strength,
  • Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight -
  • (2)  My Steadfast Love and
  • my Fortress,
  • my High Tower and
  • my Deliverer,
  • my Shield and
  • He in Whom I trust and take refuge...

My encouragement to you is don't give up, run to God, He will never leave you nor forsake you.  His word says so and although sometimes you don't hear or see Him, He is there, just like the sun at night!  Its there!

God bless
Tracy

  3. Our wedding scripture (28 years ago) was, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord,Who made heaven and earth." Psalm 121

Whenever times are tough, and I feel like hiding, this is verse I go to. It's a constant reminder that God will take care of us.

    Thank you - great post!

  4. Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
    And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

  9. This year I have gotten a more distinct picture of God being a both a rock I can stand on and rock in which I can hide in. Different situation require a different stance.

  18. I love the quote above. It's so great to know that we can run to the shelter of our God. Like a child runs into the arms of it's parents.
