Am I in the eye of the storm?

Anyone who has read my blog regularly will know that as a family we have been going through some tough stuff and it is not done yet!

BUT:  At the moment all seems well in my world.  I have peace in my heart.  I don't feel anxious and I don't look over my shoulder every 5 minutes in angst, and I was wondering if I am in the eye of the storm?  You know, that time of peace before the rest of it all breaks loose?  Or is this a "God peace" in the midst of the storm?

WELL, I know this situation is far from over and much healing, restoration, and vindication still needs to come to fruition!

SO, I choose to believe this is heart-peace!  God-given, other-worldly God peace!!!

God's word says in Phil 4 v 7:  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
and
1 Col 3 v 15:  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.

My encouragement to you is to seek God's peace in your hearts in the midst of your storm and trust in God to get you through the storm whole, renewed and refreshed!  You might be wind-blown, storm-drenched and weather-worn but in Christ your heart WILL be whole because God says He comes to heal the brokenhearted (Ps 147 v 3).

God bless
Tracy

  3. I've experienced God's peace in the midst of the storm many times, and it is a true blessing! We can trust Him in all things, even (and especially) in the storms that hit us during our life on earth. Thanks for sharing and for listing those great verses!

    Blessings, Joan

  9. It's always our decision as to whether we will allow the chaos around us to disrupt our peace, or if we will imitate Jesus and allow His peace within us to dispell the chaos around us.

  10. Praying for you Tracy as you go through your tough stuff! Praying He gives you peaceful sleep, that you feel Him beside you in each moment between peace and need, that you find shelter in the knowledge that He has the solution and He is already working it out, and praying for physical, mental and spiritual endurance in the journey of those answered prayers.

  12. Just last week for SDG I wrote about how peace is not external and about the importance of putting on the shoes of readiness as part of the armor of God so that when the storms come, we are not knocked off our foundation. I love to see how God always repeats Himself and brings us together under His Word.

    1. Hi Jen, great point. I too love how God confirms stuff for us by having the same thought running elsewhere with life-minded people.

  17. I love walking in the rain, with a warm coat on, and a big umbrella over head. Hardly a drop gets on me, and my heart is happy and at peace in this gentle storm. When it gets rough, now that is another story! Time to head for that shelter in the time of storm. Thank you for sharing at Tell me a Story. I tried to place my button on your site, but something was wrong. I will try again soon. Thank you for offering me a place at your table.

  20. I recently went through a "storm" and found peace in God. Now on the other side of it I have to remember Who brought me peace and continue to praise Him for all that He has done and will do. I want to look back and see that the "storm" brought and kept me close to HIm.
