I am grateful that even though the Lord knows my thoughts , He loves me and blesses me anyway.
I am thankful for each day.
I am thankful that although I am finding it hard to trust people, I can trust HIM. He is trustworthy and true and He will never let me down.
Today my heart's desire is to give praise and thanksgiving to the One who created me, to the One who loves me enough that He gave a huge sacrifice for my salvation. My heart's desire this day is to focus on Him and love Him and look up and make Him my focus. Today, I want to constantly bring to mind those things for which I am thankful and make my own list so I can look back on it before I go to sleep at night so I go to sleep thankful. It is in doing this, that my hope and joy will be restored, my faith and peace will be renewed.
After all, many are His thoughts about me (and you). Ps 139 v 17: How precious are Your thoughts about me. They cannot be numbered.
I will remember today that it is not about what is going on around me, no, it is about the Lord and only about the Lord. In changing my focus to Him, I know all that is around me and my perspective on it will change too.
My encouragement to you is that you remember how much God loves you and that He chose you long before you were aware of Him and His great love for you. Remember His unmerited favour and undeserved grace that He pours out on us. He does this because He first loved us.
God bless
Tracy

Gods Word is so full of Promises!

Amen Tracy! I have days when it's hard not to let a bad attitude build and get worse. But you are right...the best thing to do is to focus on Him! Look at what's going well instead of what's going wrong. And who knows, what seems to be going wrong may end up being a provision from God...we just won't see it right now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
Hi Laura - unfortunately I sometimes let my attitude build up for too long and instead of reading the word which diffuses that frustration, I explode! But, God is patient with us, thank goodness
DeleteGod bless and thanks for the encouragement
Tracy
Tracy,
ReplyDeleteI have found that recognizing those blessings of each day, as you've done, helps me to focus on God more and the situation less. I'm praying that God will give you peace soon!
Hi there - amen! this is my goal and I'm glad that others do it too

Tracy
Hi Tracy,
ReplyDeleteYour post made me smile. Often times when I don't feel like rejoicing, being thankful, or praising the Lord, if I just begin anyway, the clouds disappear and His Sonshine and peace come pouring in! (Phil 4:4-8)
Hi Esther Joy - this is so true. It is really our choice to take that step towards God as opposed to sitting around waiting for our attitudes to change. An act of the will right?!

Dank je wel Tracy. Wij lijken op elkaar. Jouw bemoediging is zo goed. Glad with it!
ReplyDeleteThis is so encouraging! To focus on His love for me puts everything into perspective. What does anything else matter? The God of the universe loves me! Amazing! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteChoosing to be thankful today! Thanks, Tracy.
ReplyDeleteAlways a timely post! God has been highlighting the rewards of thankfulness to me lately! You are a blessing Tracy. Always!!
ReplyDeleteI recently wrote a post about grief and anger causing pain.
ReplyDeleteIt is best to let it go and not to hang on to what has happened. Playing it over and over like a movie will not change the event. You might enjoy this post:

We are SO blessed to be loved by Him, King of Kings and Lord of Lords! That is ONE BIG THANKFUL on my list! Being thankful is one of the best attitude adjusters I know ;)

ReplyDeleteI could probably say lots of other things, but mostly I would like to say, simply, AMEN!!!
ReplyDeleteBless your thankful heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this posting. Gratitude is key to finding joy in all situations. Bless you my friend.
ReplyDeleteA change in focus can really help turn our mood. So easy to get caught up in all that's wrong that we lose sight of the goodness in our lives that's why I like the idea of counting the gifts.
ReplyDeleteA great reminder for eveyone. Be thankful always. God is really good.:)
ReplyDeleteThis resonates deeply and seems a little like a "sacred echo" to my own post. thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI am just guessing about that. It is good that you are thanking god for everything. God always fulfill our wishes so, we have to thanks god for that.
