Are we tapping into the Power of Prayer? (1)

Over the last 6 months or so I have been praying for various friends.  Some I have never met, some are new friends, some old.  But I determined never to offer to pray unless I intended to do just that.
Then I found myself feeling very low, very despondent, and in need of some prayer myself.  And... God provided prayer for me from some precious friends, some I have never met, some new friends, some old!

I am very grateful to you (and you know who you are) for your prayers.  I get tearful just thinking that God loves me enough to have people praying for me.

Having said that I started having a faith crisis!  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God can do anything, fix anything, answer any prayer.  But ... will He do it for me?

Then my brother and his wife visited and stayed a few days.  He ended up being "The Driver" for my daughter and her boyfriend for a dance as their "ride" let them down at the last moment.

His wife (who I love to bits) and I joked, "No wonder God organised their visit, they needed a lift" and we had a good laugh.

BUT:  Within 5 minutes of being here my sister-in-law told me about a book!  Its about prayer called "The circle Maker" by Mark Batterson.  We discussed prayer and how this book had changed her perspective on prayer and that she had bought me a copy.

And then we joked, "Nope, God sent them to visit so she could give me this book," and we chuckled.

Truth be told - I don't believe in co-incidences!  God sent them so that Sonya would give me that book!  I am 28 pages in and I am so excited about prayer!  Specifically, my prayer life!

One of the first things the author says is, "It is absolutely imperative at the outset that you come to terms with this simple yet life-changing truth:  God is for you."  That, for me, was God answering my faith crisis: "Yes Tracy, My power and strength, grace and mercy, are for you too!"

Oh Lord, thank you!  And ladies, His love, His grace, His mercy, His miracles, ARE for you too!  Romans 8 v 31:  What then shall we say to these things, if God is for us then who can be against us.

God bless
Tracy

  2. This is good Tracy! I agree that there is no co-incidences. You "needed" that book. Their visit, at just that time, was orchestrated by GOD!
Aren't you so glad that HE loves us "that" much!
    Be blessed today Tracy!

  8. So humbled and grateful that God enabled us to visit! Destiny not coincidence in God's hands! Draw up those circles and KNOW God will answer! Praying for the impossible allows God to be God - His omnipotence will be made evident when humanly impossible things come into fruition! On my knees daily praying those circles... For you and us! :)))

  9. We've all been through those faith shaking moments or will at some point. It's a difficult time, but if we allow will draw us even closer to Him! So glad that God used your family to end the crisis.
