Choices!

I've been thinking a lot lately about choices.  There are many situations every day where we have choices to make.  We need to think before each choice and decide: "Life? or death?"  Not always easy!  Sometimes, very easy!  But always.... a choice.

Duet 30 v 19:  I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;  Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

We have choices to make in our relationships.  For me, marriage is my most important relationship after God.  Do I always make right choices?  Clearly not because I argue too quickly, want my own way sometimes, get stubborn or prideful.  These are not choices for 'life' in my marriage.

What about what we eat?  When I consider I have been on diet 28 years of my 21, um 43 years and my girth groweth it is obvious not all my choices have brought 'life' to my body.

Well its time to grow up!  Time to mature!  For me anyway.  Making the same mistakes everyday is not growth.  Making mistakes is human but there are those 'mistakes' that if I'm honest with myself are more 'bad choices' than 'genuine mistakes'.

One way to achieve this growth, in fact the most effective way to grow, is by reading and absorbing God's word!  It changes you from the inside out and growth does take place.

From Pinterest
"Choose the word" It brings life!  God's word also helps clarify out choices.  So we start making better 'life-growing' choices.

God bless my friends
Tracy

  2. Hi Tracy,
I agree with you. We do need to think before each choice and then decide if what we are about to do id the right thing. For me many time I slip back into the same old choices I have always made. Then I find myself wondering why I can't get it right! Choices...I need to make better ones! Thank you for reminding me of this today!
    Blessings to you today friend...Chelle

  5. It is often a surprise to us when we realize that many of our challenges in life are caused by the choices we have made. God is honing in on "Choices" for me this week--it has been the topic of three blog posts that I have read. Something tells me I better take notes.

  6. Aw; choices, choices! We have many choices, and there will always be people and situations that cross our paths and tempt us to behave disobediently because we are more concerned with our own free-will and well-being. (A little self-serving maybe??) :)

The sooner I open my heart to God when faced with making a right choice, and listen/trust Him, the better off I (and probably those around me!) am! :)

    Love and hugs Tracy!!!!!! :)

  8. I'm so thankful God is a God of choice. It's a great example when we want to tell others what to do, or want someone to tell us what to do. God is the author of choice. Thanks, Tracy!

  12. Like Joshua, our household chooses to serve God. But the days bring other choices, some easy, some no-so. But I'm thankful you made me think about these day-to-day choices. It will help be more aware and intentional about my choices.

  13. I agree. And, no matter what our age, both physically and spiritually, the need for maturity and constant awareness do not go away. I ain't a young 'un any more, but I AM one of God's children/daughters, and need to be focused on what HE wants me to do, not on what I want to do.

    Good sharing.
