Winsome Wednesday - Where are you Looking?

Ps 25 v 15:  My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

This verse tells me a few things:
  • It tells me where my focus should be - on the Lord
  • The Lord will preserve me - if my focus is on Him
  • There are nets/traps/troubles beneath my feet
Thus life is not trouble free because your eyes are on the Lord, but He preserves you through the troubles.

This verse also shows me that my preservation comes from keeping my eyes on the Lord.  If I keep my eyes on the problems those problems will consume me.

This verse also tells me, God has my problems under control.  He will deal with them, He will prevent them from consuming me.  In fact, He will use those problems to mature me, better me and use them to benefit me for His name's sake.
Rom 8 v 28:  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

My encouragement to you - keep your eyes on God and God alone.

God bless
Tracy

  8. A great reminder Tracy. We are to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.

  9. The Lord reminded me last night that He is where I need to keep my thoughts. Since you wrote this I'm guessing He is really telling me something.

  10. Yes, Tracey, eyes on Christ. What a difference it makes in our day. When our eyes are on Him, our thoughts stay positive and are of the Philippians 4:9 list. My first blog to read this morning and already I'm blessed and encouraged.

  14. Romans 8:28 is one of my favorite verses. Last year when we were going through some uncertainty God woke me up with this verse on my heart. I still come back to it, to remind me of just how well he did work everything out!

  16. Your words reminded me of this old chorus. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full into His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangly dim - - in the light of hit glory and grace!

  17. Hi Tracy,
Just FYI, I had a little trouble linking up this evening. I tried repeatedly, and then it linked up, but with a picture that came from somewhere out of the great unknown! LOL! But thank you once again for the linkup!

  20. Wonderful message, Tracy! As believers, we're often deceived into thinking that things will be EASY with the Lord on our side, and everything will go well. But our faith is stretched and we grow the most when we encounter those nets & traps you mentioned! Praise the Lord we can keep our eyes on Him! God bless you!
