Winsome Wednesday - Decisions Decisions!

I have been very antsy lately about my blog.  I feel like I am losing focus so I went to reread my Blog Goals to remind myself why I am blogging and what it is all about.

And....what is it about?  Its about God!

So now I have made a few decisions and this was my hardest one.

This will be my last Winsome Wednesday Bloghop (for now) and I would love for you to link up with me one last time (for now - double-minded much?)  I will miss this forum very much.  I feel that my motives for the bloghop are more about me and less about God and my focus here has caused me to lose sight of what I feel it is God wants me to do.

I will be commenting and visiting and posting more, because for me, to encourage others is my heart's desire I believe placed there by the Lord.
See you all out there in cyberspace as we seek to glorify God through our experiences, our hurts, and our lives in general.

As I write this it comes to mind that maybe this is a reminder to us all to make sure we are doing what God wants us to do and not what 'we' want to do.  His way, His plan for our lives, is far better than any plan we could possibly come up with.

Prov 16 v 9:  A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

Make sure it is the Lord directing your steps.

God bless
Tracy

  1. Hi Tracy,
I'm sad to see your blog hop end (for now) but I completely understand. I have had to check myself a few times when I start trying to take on too much and remember that I started my blog as a way to host online Bible studies. I felt that's what God called me to last year. Since then He has led me to other opportunities as well, and I try to discern what He's led me to and where I'm getting ahead of Him.
I enjoy your posts and will still be here to visit! Blessings to you!
    In Christ,

So many have have already said and I echo. Its so easy for us to fall into our worldly patterns and way of thinking and truly miss what God has in store for us because we're busy doing our thing ... and not His. We should all do this gut check ... soul check? ... every now and again - and some more often than others!
For the first time I am going to go back and link up another post - a post in which I describe a dream where God clearly said, "Follow me." So today I'm at #42 and wherever you see a pic that looks like God walking along a road.
May love and blessings be poured out upon you as you rediscover His direction.
    In Christ's Love,

  21. Like you, Tracy, I set up my blog so God can use me through the things that I share and those are His Word, testimonies and my life lessons. But sometimes I do think that my noble purpose - and that is to serve and please God and not myself - is tainted with my own pride and selfish inner motives. That's the reason why I examine myself everyday, I'm led to reading and meditating on His Word more and being in His presence more.

True, it is so easy to lose ourselves and our perspectives in our writing lives. Sometimes we are tempted to compete with other blogs, feel envious of their popularity, etc. Oh, our hearts could easily go awry! It is ONLY by His grace that we can do this in a way that is pleasing to Him.

May the Lord's light be continuously upon you,
    Rina

  22. I have enjoyed your blog hop, but I so understand the need to lay it down and refocus, too. I feel like with my blog and Soli Deo Gloria and teaching -- there are periods of time where I need to reevaluate and make sure that I have not let my own heart supersede His.

  23. Hi Tracy,
I will miss your blog, but I certainly understand and appreciate your feelings. I've been going through similar questions myself, wondering why I do what I do, and wanting to make sure I am in the center of His perfect will and not my own selfish desires. I have Prov. 3:5 & 3:6 engraved on stones above my desk, and find it helpful to glance up there when I'm conflicted.

  24. Not to sound like a broken record, but I also enjoyed this hop - found some great bloggy friends! However, I completely understand the need to step back while figuring out your goals, making sure you are hearing God's call and not just going full pace at your own will. My most recent blog entry is on setting boundaries according to God's will, and if you find that you might need to set new boundaries, I highly suggest reading Dr. Cloud's book (check out my review if you are intersted - forfunreadinglist.blogspot.com) And if you decide you need to start the process I would be more than happy to pray for you during the process, as it can be challenging!

Anyway, that was probably TMI, but I just felt like you might find it helpful. Good luck! And I'm adding your regular button to my blogging friends page so I can keep up with you and your story

    1. Hi Marissa - I have done the boundaries course many years ago and know that it is something I constantly have to evaluate. Am I abusing my boundaries or is someone else? But at the end of the day, if i have peace in the decision then I trust it is from the Lord. thank you for your lovely comment. i look forward to visiting with you on your blog

  37. I totally understand, Tracy! And kudos to you for following God's leading! On my blog hop, I find that I'm stressed to read all the blogs that link up...and as a result, I find myself feeling negative about the whole thing, and that is not good. So, for me, I decided to read a few each week (3 or 4 rather than all), and then focus on the comments (replying) as well as being an encouragement through the weekly (or sometimes more) posts. Blessings to you, Tracy!!

    In Him, Joan
