Revenge?

We once were dealing with a Professor of Law who was helping us with some horrible issue and when our business with him concluded he emailed us and said, "Your best revenge is to succeed and have good health."

Now that is obviously not a Christian view point but as Christians, when we stand firm on the word, when we persevere and push through and allow God to be our defence, all the enemy's attacks come to nothing.
Psalm 112 v 10:  The wicked man will see it and be grieved and angered, he will gnash his teeth and disappear [in despair]; the desire of the wicked shall perish and come to nothing.

When we stand through the storm believing the sunshine is coming, then the elements of the storm:  rain, hail, lightening, thunder, will do us no long term harm;  because we KNOW the sunshine is coming!!!

When you stand firm and trust God and He prospers you in your life, the enemy sees it and ups the ante and it seems worse for a while but God's word says "The desire of the wicked comes to nothing."

My encouragement to you is to stand firm with God's armour firmly in place!  The enemy's darts may come fast and furiously but greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

God bless
Tracy

  4. Stand firm is sometimes quite difficult. But looking upon Jesus, it will be easier. God watches over/about every aspect of our lives. That's comforting. Big hug.

  5. Great encouragement to stand firm in the Lord! I've heard it said lately, that the greatest "revenge" we can inflict on our enemy is to share our testimonies and the faithfulness of God in every circumstance! That way, that old deceiver will regret ever having messed with us! I'm standing firm in the Lord! Blessings, Joan

  9. Thank you for sharing at Tell Me a Story. Revenge is certainly not up to us. That is bad for health too. We had a friend who felt he had been overcharged in a business deal. He paid his bill, and told God to take revenge if it was needed, because he was letting this whole thing GO. I am not sure that God did any pay back - but the next week the person who cheated him went sking and fell and broke his leg. Anyway our friend sent him a get well card! Repaying good for evil. :-)

    1. Hi Hazel - this made me chuckle. Love how your friend paid what he had to and verbally left the unfairness to God. Great testimony there

  10. Through all these years you stay an encouragement and inspiration in my life, and in the lives of my children. Sometimes people get addicted to having a problem. It defines everything they think, say and do, and so it becomes their identity and their life. You chose not to use this problem as a means of getting sympathy, instead you put your trust in Him and cooperate with Him as He leads you to victory over the problem, one step at a time. I admire you for that. God has promised to meet our need and to repay us for our loss, if we learn to follow his personal plan for our lives. Bless you Sis xxMxx

  11. Oh yes Tracy; there are so many pains and challenges we face with the enemy throughout our lives, and sometimes we feel that we can't see the end in sight, but we must stand firm and keep our minds on His Word and His promises because He is the light in the midst of the storm!

Blessings and His grace to you this week my friend!

  12. oooh --- what an amazing verse. Psalm 112: 10.
I am going to need to remember that one.

As church planters in a small, spiritually dark community, I feel like we have targets on our backs. This is encouraging, and very timely.
    Thank you!!

    1. Hi Meredith - sometimes I read past stuff and then one day it just zings you in the face. Love when God does that. It is a great scripture if you have been hurt and have chosen to trust God in it

  17. Yes! Stand firm and put on the whole armor. And yes, we should forgive others, just as Jesus forgave us.

Thank you for linking up, Tracy.

  18. Amen! This is exactly how we must focus... the Lord is the one of vengeance. WE must not be. That can be so very tough in a personal manner, but to trust the Sunshine.. that is what counts.
