Give thanks when you least feel like it!

Ps 118 v 1:  O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;  for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

This last week HAS BEEN TOUGH for me.  And as each wave of trials has washed up on the shore of my life, I have had this deep down certainty that these waves are trying to blind me to the treasures (blessings) that the Lord has in store for me and my family.  But an even greater certainty I have, is that God has got this, He is in control and everything the enemy throws at us will come to nothing as I stand firm in Christ!

So as an act of faith I am thanking the Lord for all He is doing in my life even if I can't see it (thus faith) but also for all I can see.

Thank you Jesus:

  • for protecting us on the roads
  • for protecting us in our home
  • for protecting us from those who would hurt us
  • for friends who help to hold up our arms while the battle rages
  • for the birds that sing outside my bedroom window and draw my mind away from the ugly stuff
  • for warm blankets and warm clothes, a blessing I am truly grateful for
  • for Your Word that encourages, uplifts, and restores
  • for laughter and those who draw it out of me
  • for my girls, for their love and gentleness when they see their mom hurting
  • for my husband, for his strength in You in the face of adversity

I thank You
I praise You
I exalt You Father
I glorify Your name for You alone are worthy!

God bless
Tracy

  1. We have been going through trials as of late! God always reminds me of how our Savior and His Son handled it after He was arrested. He was paraded from leader to leader, being falsely accused of crimes! But what did He do and say. NOTHING!
God give us the strength to rely only on you!

  2. Big Hugs, Tracy. I don't know what's going on, but I'll definitely pray for you. We have an older gentleman at church who says that he always thought the devil left you alone when you became a Christian-- if we were only so lucky.

  4. I don't know what is so hard in your life, but I do know that we have an almighty Helper. I hope there comes a time comes that your desert blooms like a rose.

    Big hug.

  5. Praying for you as you trust Him through the tough times, too. It's so much easier when we can SEE what God's doing- but your thanksgiving sheds light in the dark. I love the way you're wielding that sword of the Spirit and giving thanks in all things.
