I have a Hope,thus - I will Wait!

Ps 27 v 13-14:  I would have lost heart, unless I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  (14) Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart;  Wait, I say, on the Lord!

I felt, when I read these verses that God was saying "If you have a hope, then you will be prepared to wait."

David knew God had a plan for his future and he knew that he did not need to "make it happen" even though he had an opportunity or three to influence the outcome.

Even though it most certainly didn't look like there was any plan at times that was coming to fruition.  In fact, it looked like the only plan in action was the destruction of anything God had planned.

But you know what?  That is a sign that God's plan is good, its there, and it will happen - because the devil is doing everything in his power to destroy it!

So, do I have a hope?
Yes, my hope is in the Lord.

Is my hope justified?
Yes, God's word is His word and like Him, it is the same yesterday, today and forever.

So, if I have a hope in Christ, and if His word is true, I WILL WAIT!

My encouragement to you is to stand firm in your waiting!  He will strengthen you!  Your hope and faith are well placed and you shall not be put to shame.  (Ps 25v3(a):  Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed)

God bless
Tracy

  1. Thank you for this encouragement Tracy. I pray that your waiting is rewarded with joy that is unbelievable, happiness that makes you laugh hysterically and a peace over you and your family that is tangible. God bless you all.

  2. David's faith and persistence is so inspiring; I just love reading Psalms! So many times when we are hoping, praying, and waiting for something it's easy to stray from our faith and trust in Him. But God uses these opportunities to stretch our faith, and actually grow during these times of waiting! :)

    Wonderful encouragement for today Tracy!
    Blessings and hugs :)

  3. Waiting on the Lord at this time for an issue. It is hard especially if you are impatient as I am.

  4. I"m with you, Tracy. Our sermon yesterday was on waiting and our pastor said, "Waiting is the hardest part of hope." I so agree with that. So, as I hope and wait, I pray for you as well, that we can keep up the hope.

  8. Tracy, I am experiencing the reality of hope in waiting and the fruit that comes from that hope, and the waiting. It's the time in the midst that seems so long and discouraging. But God is faithful! Thanks for the reminder!

  9. I needed this today. I'm waiting. I know God's plans are good, I know nothing can stop His plans, but still that waiting is hard. But I will lean and trust on Him. For all things are possible with God. Thank you, sweet (((((Tracy)))))!

  11. Waiting is one of my weakest trait. But the Lord is teaching & showing me that those who wait in the Lord shall renew their strength & we shall mount up with wings as eagles, we will run & not be weary! Wow, what outstanding promises from the Lord just for waiting on Him! =) Thanks for this beautiful reminder today.

Yes, David waited for God's timing -- He did not take any "Short Cuts" and mess up God's plans. He was patient and God rewarded him. (Patient most of the time)

  14. " I would have lost heart, unless I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord" Wow, that was amazing! To have faith in God! Because we know that HE can! When we can't HE can. Awesome message. Very encouraging in difficult circumstances.

    Be blessed,

  18. Hope--what a gift! And what an encouraging post to read first thing this morning. Many times I would have lost heart--but hope keeps me strong.

  19. So encouraging, Tracy. I often think of how David could have taken the throne and had the chance to kill Saul at least twice, yet he waited on God's timing. Another reason why he was a man after God's own heart.

Thank you so much for linking up.

    Blessings to you, my friend.

  20. They say that as long as there's life, there will always be hope. We however need to be reminded of it every now and then.

  21. Such a good post-I feel like it was meant for me. I'm always rushing to get to the goal-instead of enjoying the journey. I feel God telling me "Shhh...be patient, be still." To trust and wait, is a lesson within itself.
It is also a hopeful thing-knowing so many good Christians out here on the web trying to make a difference within thier families and the world. Thank you.

  22. Neighbors at Heartprints Hallejuah. Hope and faith are married. Our faith depends on keeping hope alive.

  23. Where would we be without hope in the Lord? God's Word tells us that hope does not disappoint and that we can trust God is His timing and in His way!

Great post...especially when we are in God's waiting room. :)

Thanks for linking up. Thanks for the encouragement.

  24. Oh, I love this. Simply love this. "I would have lost heart" - unless I believed in Him - trying to stuff that inside my sons, wanting them to live that way - because I never would have survived without that belief!
