"Content" - My word for 2012!

Well, this word kind of chose me!

For the last 2 years I have chosen a scripture for the year instead of new years resolutions.  This I've done for 2012 and you can read it to the right  -->  Its a great scripture:  Isaiah 43 vs 18-19!

Then I started seeing various blogs where lovely ladies were choosing a 'word' for 2012.  I was intrigued but did not really give it too much thought after that.  But a few days ago I did a post on contentment and Deidra, from The Middle, left me this comment: ".... and you picked a great word for 2012 - Contentment - I need to soak that one in!"

So, I have decided that my word for the year is "Content".  I don't believe in co-incidence (except that I was born on my birthday - my husband's joke) I believe God wants me to learn contentment in all things.

The Goal:
Phil 4 v 11:  Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content.
and
Heb 13 v 5:  Let your conduct be without covertness, and be content with such things as you have.
a by-product:
1 Tim 6 v 6:  Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

So, "CONTENT" it is then!  I am content with that :)

God bless
Tracy

  1. I wish you many blessings on your journey of discovery through this year, with the word content in mind. I'll write this week a blog about my focus word. But when ... I think tomorrow.

Have a great week with your family.

  2. Hi Tracy,

Being content and relying on God's promises and power is a great relief as we go through our daily challenges. He will teach us contentment in every circumstance, and supply all our needs in His perfect timing. :)

Great word to start your year! :)

    Blessings and hugs,
    Denise

  5. Tracy, I've missed you too! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year :) Being content is such a struggle. What a great word for the year! This is my favorite quote on contentment...

“Christian contentment is that sweet, inward, quiet, gracious frame of spirit, which freely submits to and delights in God's wise and fatherly disposal in every condition.” ― Jeremiah Burroughs

Love it so much! Blessings dear friend!
