Isa 58 v 11: The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
The verse before that read:
V10: If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.
This tells me that if I want to be like an oasis in the spiritual desert of the world, then I must reach out to others, encourage others, help others and my light (which comes from Christ) will shine and chase away the darkness!
My encouragement to you - "need encouragement? need help?" - go and encourage, go and find someone who you can help - and God's light will shine into your circumstance.

I will try and play along, feeling the after effects of playing Mama to a hurly girly yesterday....let's just say sensitive and delicate, shall we?
ReplyDeleteThis part really speaks to me right now, "The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones." I feel dry today and I am so glad that all I need to do is humbly submit before Him and I will be satisfied.
ReplyDelete"Your darkness shall be as the noonday!" Love that.
ReplyDeleteHe who refreshes others will himself be refreshed....

I am happy to come across your blog. The verses you have chosen are among my favorite. Your comments about light resonated with me.
ReplyDeleteYou know it's in those moments when I feel bad or want to feel sorry for myself that I get the most blessing if I would just go help someone else. This world would be a better place is we all did that! Thanks for reminding me I need to go help someone!
ReplyDeleteTracy this is great encouragement. We need to help others and God will shine on our circumstance! Yes!

Hi Dawn - its so true. I normally hide away from everyone when I'm feeling low, but when I do take that step and get out there and help or encourage someone else, I definitely have an attitude change.
Hi Chelle - amen. God is great that way.
Ladies, thank you for your comments. I truly appreciate each and every one.

Thanks, Tracy, for the inspiring post! May His light shine through us and His love flow through us like rivers of living water!
ReplyDeleteI love that verse. I studied Isaiah last year and it was so powerful. The part of this verse that spoke to me was the promise to strengthen my bones! I'm going to write that where I can see it every day. I have several fractures in my leg from a car accident in August. I need literal strength in my bones! Thank you! Bless you
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy - Yes, God's ways are different and trying things His way takes faith, but the rewards are out of this world :)
ReplyDeleteHi Laurie - amen
Hi Alyssa - Its one of my favourite scriptures and Alyssa, I will be lifting you up in prayer for those fractures, for God's healing and renewed strength
God bless ladies and I truly appreciate your comments
