Want Joy?

Ps 16 v 11:  You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

This scripture says "In Your presence is fullness of joy."  Thus, want joy?

  • Spend time with God
  • Spend time in prayer
  • Spend time in His word
  • Sing His praises, and worship Him in song
and JOY will come.
(remember that joy has nothing to do with happiness)

I encourage you, when you are feeling down or you feel God is far away, first remember to measure your feelings against the word, and secondly, despite how you feel, I encourage you, spend time in the word, sing His praises, thank Him for whatever you can in the moment, even your very breath - balance will be restored, Joy will come.  My prayer for you is to rise above your feelings, to Joy!

God bless
Tracy

  4. So true! I find that obedience is the key that unlocks joy. Praising when it's hard, praying when we don't have words, trusting when it hurts, obedience that will bear the fruit of joy in time!

  5. That is the key. Reaching for our Bible, or praying to God even when we might not feel like. That is where the power comes from. Loving and praising Jesus in all things!:)

  6. We just had this conversation last night with a friend at Bible study. She is going through a tough time and feeling down. She needs His joy. I shared that when I am down, I turn up the praise music and sing and worship Him. How can you not feel His joy when you are sing worship to Him!

  9. One of my favorite verses. The more time I spend with God, the greater my joy. Like you said, "Joy will come." My mother always taught me that if my joy was low to go do something for someone else.

  10. In the joy of the Lord there is peace! One of my sons is blessed with a joyful spirit; for me, it is a choice I reach to the Father for! I so needed this right now!

  11. "Remember that joy has nothing to do with happiness."

This is something that I am still attempting to learn.

Good lesson and reminder. I needed to hear this today. Thanks. :)

I second Stefanie's response, if you could just please hook up the IV, and put a dollop of that in my morning coffee.

  14. So true! True joy (joy in the Lord) is something that no one can take away from us...except ourselves. So, by choosing to keep our eyes on the Lord and remain close to Him, He will bless us with joy that happens in spite of our circumstances!

    Joyful blessings to YOU Tracy!
