Stop watering the 'Weeds'

My husband and I were chatting the other day and he made a comment something along the lines of, "If you water a weed, it'll grow too and start killing off the grass!"  Kind of obvious but when you think about it in terms of "sin" its very frightening.

James 1 v 14-15:  But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. (15) Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

We all have sin in our lives.  The thing is to recognise it....and deal with it - NOW!  Because when we don't, when we ignore it and its potential pitfalls, like a weed, it grows and as the scripture above says - sin, when full-grown leads to death.

Lets keep our fruit trees weed-free!

Weed the sins out before we become trees bearing bad fruit!

God bless
Tracy

  2. You and Jen are thinking about the plants and the garden as mine are recovering from our first big snow. You have me asking myself what weeds I've been watering lately. Thanks!

  6. Great post. We often ignore, and even sometimes enjoy the small weeds. Then the big trees are almost impossible to dig up.

  10. Reading this makes me think about how we often water the weeds when we spend so much time focusing on negatives things. Instead of those things that are lovely and of good report. Thanks for this reminder Traci. Blessings to you & yours.
