Winsome Wednesday - Encouragement

1 Thes 5 v 11:  Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
I remember my mom telling me, "If you have nothing good to say about anyone - don't say anything!"  I think this still applies to us as adults.  Life is so busy, so full of trials, so painful sometimes.  We do not need to be adding to that by saying negative things to or about each other.

My encouragement to you is to be the sunshine in someone's life today.  Say something positive to the people you come into contact with today.  Do something good or helpful for someone today.  It not only encourages them, it encourages you.

Phil 2 v 4:  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

God bless
Tracy

  3. Brightening someone's day is such an encouragement to them, and...it feels so good doing it! Just like it says in Hebrew 3:13, we should encourage one another daily , as long as it is called today. :)

I hope your day is bright and encouraging today Tracy! :)

  5. Tracy - your post echos my thoughts of the last few days. With 2011 winding down, I have began to ponder what my word and verse for 2012 will be. I feel the Lord telling me "encouragement". As the body of Christ, we need to encourage one another.

I'm so glad to have "met" you here in the blogging world and thanks for hosting Winsome Wednesday each week.

    Blessings,
    Joan

What a gift we give when we give words of encouragment. How we need to brighten this dark world with the sunshine of His love.

  15. Love this. It is so easy to get caught up in ourselves that we just don't think about others.

  19. How the darkness doesn't like the sunshine though, sometimes - I'm thinking of grumpy boys going to school who don't want to hear encouraging words. But they need they need those words to shine in anyhow! So glad I stopped by for you to shine in my day!

  20. I love your mom's wise words! I think that when we encourage others (and spread a little sunshine), we bring joy to our Father! Thanks for the reminder!

    Blessings, Joan

P.S. Thanks for your comments on both of my blogs! The one on prayer is actually fairly new - only a bit over a month. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! "See" you Monday! =)
