What are you facing today?

Duet 20 v 1:  When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid.  The Lord your God, who brought you safely out of Egypt, is with you!

Vs 3(b)-4:  ...Do not lose heart or panic.  For the Lord your God is going with you!  He will fight for you against your enemies, and He will give you the victory!

What are you facing today?
A hardship?  A sickness?  A nasty person at work?  An unfairness?  An injustice?

Prayer - how we should fight!
God says:
  • He will go with you
  • He will fight your battle
  • He will give you the victory
Our part:
  • Don't lose heart - don't give up
  • Praise Him, in faith
  • Stand firm - in trust

The beauty in this for me is you don't have to "fight" anything.  God will do all the "fighting" for you.  When we fight we just exhaust ourselves and lose hope.  Our weapons of warfare are the Armour of God (Eph 6 v 13-17) and they are:
  • truth
  • righteousness
  • gospel of peace
  • faith
  • salvation in Christ
  • God's word

My encouragement is to trust God.  He loves you and He knows you better than you know yourself.  Believe Him in faith to fight your battle.

God bless
Tracy

  2. Hopefully I am not facing anything huge like that. My plans are to chill at home and watch some tv before collecting kidlets.
    Love your encouragement though.

  3. Hi Tracy,

I love this, so often we think we have to fight our own battles, I speak from experience, most times we end making a bigger mess than necessary, I heard Charles Stanley once say, fight your battles on your knees. Give it to God, trust Him and watch Him work He will make beauty from our ashes.

    Blessings to you Tracy.

  5. In reading those scriptures, I was reminded that we do in fact have to face things. We can't just run and hide.

  6. Hmm ...this seems to be a recurring theme for me lately. Allow God to fight my battles. I guess He's trying to tell me something? :)

I hopped over from Joan's blog and so glad I did.

    Blessings,
    Debbie

  7. Hi Shannon - I can't wait either, I've sent you a testimony!

Hi Stefanie - facing the TV, interesting problem. :) Hope your week is all about peace and not facing problems.

Hi Kandi - I think we all, myself included do not value the power of fighting on our knees. Great point.

Hi Joan - amen, if God is for us who can be against us? We just need to remind ourselves of that when we feel cornered!

Hi Wanda - amen, and as Christians, God does not remove troubles, He just carries us through them. Great point

Hi Debbie - thank you for visiting and commenting. I will be over to visit you too soon. I agree, God is reminding me of this constantly at the moment too.

Ladies - you honour me with your comments and I am very grateful for each one.
    God bless

  8. Yes, the battle is the Lord's! That is such an encouragement because we can become so tired and weary. But He tells us to not give up! He is with us and will never let us go.

Thanks for linking up today! I pray you have a blessed week!

  13. Tracy, I love the picture you used that says, "This means war" and shows a person praying. That is how we should fight - on our knees, giving it all to God. Love this encouragement today!
