Feeling Doubtful and Weak?

Sometimes I feel like I've really let the Lord down.  Like when I do something again that I promised the Lord I wouldn't do.  Or I really blew an opportunity given to me by the Lord.  Maybe to speak into someone's life?

The worst for me is when my feelings and emotions get the better of me and I turn into the horrible person that I can't believe anyone could love, let alone like!

And then you take a leap of desperation faith and go read His word and He places awesome scripture before your eyes:
Ps 94 vs 18-19:  I cried out, "I'm slipping!" and Your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.  (19) When doubts filled my mind, Your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer (NLT)

  • Thank the Lord for David - he put into words what so many of us feel
  • Thank the Lord for His grace and mercy to receive us when we turn to Him in our failure and desperation!
  • Thank the Lord that when we take that step of faith to seek Him in His word, He renews our hope and cheer!
I know when I reach out  to God and read His word, I always leave His word with a hope, an idea there is light at the end of the tunnel! (and no, its not a train!)

My encouragement to you is to go straight to God's word when you start to feel low or feel like a failure - His word says His love will hold you up!

God bless
Tracy

  1. I love this verse in the Message also:Psalms 94:18-19 The minute I said, "I'm slipping, I'm falling," your love, GOD, took hold and held me fast. 19 When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.
Praise God that he grabs hold of us in time!

  7. Very encouraging words for me Tracy; I have been feeling a little guilty about not reading more of His word; it's certainly been on my heart. All of my daily inspirations and devotionals are a blessing, however nothing brings me closer to Him than His Word!!! :)

Blessings for His grace upon you today! :)

  8. Agreed, I do struggle at times to read His precious word but I often turn to my three fav. scriptures of all time when I can't read anything else (psalm 23, 27 and 91) and sometimes I just eat these up for weeks on end until I'm strong enough to go to other pastures.

    Thanks Tracey and be blessed

  11. God's word and prayer go hand in hand! Spending time in either requires discipline and grace, and the reward for both is great. Thanks for stopping by and linking up today at Sister to Sister.

  16. "I'm slipping" - I have so many days like that - where my peace starts slipping away, and I take my eyes off the Father - I am so glad He saves me - and you are right - that Word grabs us with His hands! I'm going to keep that scripture in mind over the next few weeks and hold on to it. As a matter of fact, I'm going to send it to my son in Basic Training, too!

Thanks for blessing me with your heart!

  19. I never thought to thank the Lord for David. So many times I seek out one praise verse and it sets the tone for the day. Other times I relate as I read David's plea for forgiveness or his cry for help. Thank you, Tracy for the new perspective you always share.

    Blessings,
    Pamela
