What are you doing with your Burdens?

Quote from the book "God Calling" by the Listeners:
Look to Me for all...Rely on Me for all.  Drop those burdens, and then, singing and free, you can go on your way rejoicing.  Encumbered with them you will fall.
Drop them at My feet, knowing surely that I will lift them and deal with each one as is truly best.

What does the word say about your burdens?
Ps 55 v 22:  Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you;  He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Gal 6 v 2:  Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Sometimes I give my burdens to the Lord, ONLY when I have exhausted every other avenue first!  And the relief I have is amazing and generally immediate.  Imagine, if I had acknowledged the burden and gone to the Lord with it immediately!  I would have felt relief and peace so much sooner.

Drop those burdens!

My encouragement to you is do as the word says - "Cast your burden on the Lord..."  Do it as a child trusts you to take care of their problems...God is the ultimate parent.... He knows what to do with your burdens.  TRUST Him!  Leave it with Him and go on your way singing and praising your Lord and Saviour in faith.

God bless
Tracy

  1. I find myself picking them all up again when I deem Him to be working too slowly for my liking. Need a post on that for next week please?

  2. Guilty as charged! Either I don't take them to the cross, or I do then pick them up again.

    Blessings,

  5. Burdens I tend to give them to God and then pick them right back up again. But I heard a pastor say that when we give them to God and we begin to take them back upon ourselves we have taken them out of God's hand and placed them back into our hands. It's a statement of saying we don't trust God enough to handle it..that statement really caused me to stop in my tracks and examine myself as to why..and I saw just how true that statement was...now I am much better and not picking them up again and when I do that statement in which I heard that pastor speak comes back to my memory...

  9. Tracy, the second verse hit me. I think that I need to remember that one. Often, I do what you say here--I exhaust EVERY resource and then go to God. Lately, I have been doing a lot on my own, though. Isn't it weird how we sway from one level to another. Thank you for linking up so that I found this.

  10. Tracy, I can relate to giving my burdens to the Lord ONLY after I have exhausted every other possibility. Like you said, what if I had taken them to Him immediately? Great encouragement today. Many blessings!

  12. Some burdens are hard to leave at Jesus feet: like those of our children. It is a constant struggle as Satan keeps trying to make me put them back on my back. Thank you for the reminder.

  14. Tracy,

I am so guilty of giving it God only after I have worked in my strength and failed oh so miserably! and even then I have been known to snatch outit out of His hands.

    Blessings to you Tracy.

  16. Hi Tracy~I too have a problem with trying every other source first before going to the Lord! Why is trust so hard sometimes?!
I really like "God Calling". I have one at work and one at home also. I find it helps to read it multiple times throughout my day.
    Be blessed today...Chelle

  17. I am sooo guilty of this Tracy. Waiting until I exhaust all my own efforts before falling at His feet. Oh, that we might rise early and seek Him BEFORE troubles and trials arise. How much easier things are...at these times. ~ jen
