U - Used

Are you feeling used?
Matt 5 v 44:  But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.

How do you use your freedom?
Gal 5 v 13:  For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

I think this means that we were set free from the 'law' through the ultimate sacrifice of Christ on the cross who saved us through grace and not works - in that freedom from the 'law' we have to be careful not to use that freedom to do whatever we want thinking Christ has paid the price.  He has - but we cheapen His sacrifice - by behaving in this manner.  In awe, we should use our freedom, because of such a sacrifice, to serve others, thereby showing others just a fraction of His great love for us.

Both scriptures speak of love - someone trying to use you? - pray for them in love!  Use your freedom in Christ, to serve one another in love!

In doing this you are being USED of God.  The best position to be in!

God bless
Tracy

  4. I agree Tracy; the best position to be in is when you are being used by God! Great (and creative) use of the letter "U"!

  5. Hi Kelli - thank you and yes, thank the Lord for His ultimate sacrifice

Hi Stacy - your words really touched me, and I hope your day is joy-filled too.

Hi Stefanie, I know. I'm now getting worried that there are so few letters in the alphabet!!!

Hi Denise - I love it when I play a part in some plan of the Lord's. I don't mind being used in this way (by God) at all.

  6. It's been a while a since I've been stopped by, but I like your list of characters! I like this twist of used....usually that brings out a negative connotation, so thanks for the challenge of the "how are you being used?" A good encouragement!

  9. When I first read " Use your freedom in Christ, to serve one another in love!", I thought of how serving someone can be tough! People can be great burdens. Reason being, they drain and suck all the 'God' and life out of us in times of trouble because they desperate for help. But then reading, "In doing this you are being USED of God." so therefore not i that aids anyone, but the God through me who has already paid the price! Then when people need our help, no matter how many, we wont feel drained, because we are spiritually whole! Thank you, a good reminder that if we want to be used by God, we have to be in the word and close to his voice. M

  11. Hi Brenda - so good to hear from you again. Yes, it did start out like that but turned positive. Being used of God is an awesome feeling. Its like He trusts you with something important. Very humbling

Hi Jenifer - We can use His strength and power and He can use our weakness. Great partnership

Hi Lisa - I didn't realise how powerful that scripture was until I did this post.

Hi M. Great observations. I have found that to do something for someone else as unto the Lord, removes the potential for resentment and like you say, your energy is different.

Hi Dawn - yes, well - it depends on what God would have me learn about the sheep.

Thank you everyone for your comments. They encourage me as i hope I have encouraged you.
    God bless

  13. Amen! People will use you, but if you are steeped in His Word and walking in His Light, you will be well aware of their intentions. However, like you pointed out, God is using us. He may be using us to bring that person into the Kingdom or showing us that we need to be more humble to Him. Every day, we should ask that we be used to further His Kingdom! Thank you, for this post. It really made me reach-down and pull a few things to the forefront of my walk. Blessings!

  14. Hi Lisa - me too. And to do it with God's love

Hi Nicole - thanks for the visit, I'll be popping over to check your blog out soon

Hi Cynthia - I love how you say that steeped in His word, we will be aware of the intentions of others. And then to be used of God is an awesome testimony.

Ladies, thank you for your comments. They bless me.
    God bless
    Tracy
