Grace is God's unmerited favour. We do not deserve it but because He loves us so much, He pours it out on us.
What does the word say about God's grace?
Gen 6 v 8: But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord
Why? There was so much sin at the time of Noah, but Noah chose to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord so the Lord extended grace - and Noah and his family were the only people saved from the flood. Oh, that we should find favour in God's eyes!
Ps 84 v 11: For the Lord God is a sun and a shield; The lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
There it is again - walk uprightly - and God extends His grace, withholding no good thing!
John 1 v 17: For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
We are saved through grace in Christ Jesus and not be a set of laws. The law is there to protect us, but we are made acceptable through Christ - God's grace extended to us - His children!
2 Cor 12 v 9(a): And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
I think this means that the weaker we are, the less we do things in our strength and lean on Christ, the stronger He shows in our lives. Like it says in His word - we get the victory, but the glory is His!
Eph 2 v 8: For by the grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Salvation, grace - gifts from God
Our victory - being saved, living in eternity with Him
His glory - He did it, Him alone, not by our strength!
We should extend grace (undeserved, unmerited favour) to those who irritate, annoy, hurt, or are rude to us. Its undeserved and therefore all the more the impact will be to those to whom we extend it!
I trust God will extend His grace to you as you search His word and walk His road, and as you extend grace to others.
