E - Ears

When God tries to bring something in your life into line with His word or maybe you feel He is asking you to do something you are fearful of doing, do you have your fingers in your ears and sing lalalalalala?!

Its no use you know.  Ask Jonah!  If you love the Lord you will know the Lord loves you so His discipline, His instruction, His conviction, is for you own good.  After all - He above anyone knows whats best for you!

The more determined we are to hear God the quicker we will know what it is we need to do, be it trusting more, taking a step of faith, stopping a destructive habit or behaviour, maybe just being still.

Matt 11 v 15:  He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

What are our ears for?  To hear!  Its our choice to whom we listen.  I choose to listen to and for Christ in faith knowing He has my best interests at heart.

2 Tim 4 v 3-4:  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
To whom are you listening?

Let us not have these ears, but ears open to Christ and Christ alone!

God bless
Tracy

  3. not sure if you will get this, but please pray for my little one. She has gotten sick from the test. We need her ketones to go down and her glucose to stay normal. Please pray that her vitals stay normal as well. Thank you for praying Tracy.

  4. Great reminder. I always refer to a time in my life when I "turned down the volume" on the Lord. Now, I realize the benefits of turning the volume up...way up!

  6. That is me at times, why do we do it? I believe it's because our minds aren't yet totally transformed into the mind of Christ. Great post

  7. Amen! You are right, covering our ears when the Lord speaks to us will not help us "get away" from our chosen responsibility.

    Great post and reminder!

  9. I'm a weirdo: I happen to think I have the most lovely ears in the world. They really are terrific. Too bad I don't use them to listen more often! Silly me.

  10. I want my ears so attuned to Him that I would hear Him every time He speaks, not just when I am "able" to listen.

  11. Thank you for reminding me that responding to God's voice in my life is a very critical part of my growth process! The closing verse is a sobering reminder to me to be fully aware of the sound of HIS voice, which comes from knowing His word. There is no substitute for reading the Bible! Good job, Tracy!

  13. Hi Tracy! I need to learn to shut mouth A and open ears B so I don't insert foot C! Helpful post again!

BTW, You definitely deserve the Versatile Blogger award. To see how it works, take a look at Shanda's and my posts on it and just make yours similar.
    BLessings!

  14. Tracy,

Oh my goodness do I get this today. I felt God telling me to get up and move and I was so scared to do what He was asking. I have to remember, that He never lead me into to something that will harm me. And if we feel incapable of doing something we are right where we should be, if we could do things in our strenght we would have no need for Him.

    Blessings to you Tacy.

Hi Kandi - I Love when you need a word or encouragement to do something God wants you to do - and then - you read something, someone says something, or God just plain drops a hint only you would get.

Hi Lisa - Amen, I pray the same for me.

God bless you guys. I appreciate your comments very much.
